Hello. I'm trying to run Diablo 2 under wine. The game installs fine (D2 + LoD + Patch 1.11b), but I experience some serious performances issues. Wine is set to Windows XP mode (otherwise, the game protection doesn't work). The game is very sluggish when the minimap is open, when setting the key binding, or on battle.net menus. The only choice I got from D2VidTst.exe is DirectDraw HAL. May that be the problem? My machine is a Dual Core AMD 64, I run a 2.6.18-4-amd64 kernel (debian testing). I use wine 0.9.34. I run x.org 7.1.1 with the radeon driver (video card is an ati X800 GT). Tips for optimisation, or ways to investigate the problem would be welcome. Thanks. -- A.Skrzyniarz
[FIXED] I updated to wine 0.9.41 (from the unstable directory) and switched from Direct3D HAL to DirectDraw(2D). It works perfectly, now. YMMV
