[Wine] CounterStrike Source and Asus Ati Radeon HD 4850 512MB
Hi! I installed wine in Kubuntu and afterwords i installed steaminstaller from my CSs CD! I could execute both steam and CSs very fast and without problems. I veryfied that my ATI drivers were properly installed, which they where. So no problems there :) ! Then I configured my video options in CSs (16:10 1680 x 1050) and started up the game, but then I got some strange problem with the screen. There where black and grey lines flickering all over the screen, and I couldn't see the players arms only the guns :(. In the background I could discern the map! Are there som configs you have to do with V-sync or something like it? Does anyone have a clue why this happens, and if there are some solutions to it? I have tried wine in Ubuntu with an Nvidia 6800 GT card without these problems, but instead I had bad fps and poor resolution. Regards LameAiM

Might be a good idea to sell your new ATI card and buy nvidia to avoid the headache.

It is said that the CS:S "flashing lines" issue will be soon resolved by the catalyst driver. But make sure you have installed the latest wine version :)

I have the same problem with ubuntu 8.1, wine, and a ATi 4830 with counter-strike. has anyone found a solution? will my updater auto-detect new proprietary drivers? jeffz-2 wrote:> > Is there any shell output information shows before crashing? > > > > > > >-- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/CounterStrike-Source-and-Asus-Ati-Radeon-HD-4850-512MB-tp22580114p23014628.html Sent from the Wine - Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
