I'm relatively new to Linux. I'm using Ubuntu 8.04. I've installed Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl. The game runs fine but with absolutely no sound. I configure the sound using ALSA in the drivers portion of the audio tab and the test works fine. I have removed pulse audio as I have read this conflicts with WINE. It seems if I try to use an audio driver the game then locks up and all I get is a black screen when I go to start the game. If I disable all audio the game runs just fine. I have a Turtle Beach Riviera 5.1 that is configured and working properly in Ubuntu itself. I don't understand why I am having this much trouble. Has anyone else run into this, am I doing something wrong?
