Hello list, I am experiencing sound problems with Soul Reaver 2, follows the initial log after starting the game. $wine sr2.exe fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 59 (SPI_SETSTICKYKEYS) fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_GetAvailableTextureMem (0x17a890) : stub, simulating 64MB for now, returning 64MB left fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_ValidateDevice (0x17a890) : stub loading PCEnglish\locals.bin fixme:win:WIN_CreateWindowEx Parent is HWND_MESSAGE err:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne underrun on sound buffer 0x216618 err:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne underrun on sound buffer 0x15604f8 fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne problem with underrun detection (mixlen=11776 < primary_done=15904) fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne problem with underrun detection (mixlen=11776 < primary_done=15904) fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne problem with underrun detection (mixlen=11776 < primary_done=15904) fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne problem with underrun detection (mixlen=1948 < primary_done=6816) fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne problem with underrun detection (mixlen=2256 < primary_done=6816) (snip) many lines like that follow and the sound is jerky I looked at the AppDB and found that others have managed to run the game but with sound problems too. My question is what seems to be the problem and what needs to be done in order to get it fixed. Environment details follow: $wine --version wine-0.9.30 Windows version: Windows XP $uname -a Linux amd64k8nnxp 2.6.19.2 #1 PREEMPT Thu Jan 18 10:50:21 EET 2007 i686 unknown unknown GNU/Linux OS: Slackware 10.2 kde 3.5.5 ALSA and OSS CPU : AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+ MEM: MemTotal: 1034248 kB SwapTotal: 9960220 kB What are the next steps in order to get this issue resolved? Should I file a bug or maybe post an entry in AppDB? What debug variable should I turn on, when starting the game in order to get more information on the problem? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration, and please excuse my poor English. -- regards Plamen Vassilev
use the alsa driver and activate the option 'UseDirectHW' with regedit http://wiki.winehq.com/UsefulRegistryKeys this fixed similar problems for me in swat 4 and generally seemed to make alsa sound run better. (although some things still need oss i.e. halflife 2) Dean Plamen Vassilev wrote:> Hello list, > > I am experiencing sound problems with Soul Reaver 2, follows the initial log > after starting the game. > > $wine sr2.exe > fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 59 > (SPI_SETSTICKYKEYS) > fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_GetAvailableTextureMem (0x17a890) : stub, > simulating 64MB for now, returning 64MB left > fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_ValidateDevice (0x17a890) : stub > loading PCEnglish\locals.bin > fixme:win:WIN_CreateWindowEx Parent is HWND_MESSAGE > err:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne underrun on sound buffer 0x216618 > err:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne underrun on sound buffer 0x15604f8 > fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne problem with underrun detection (mixlen=11776 < > primary_done=15904) > fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne problem with underrun detection (mixlen=11776 < > primary_done=15904) > fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne problem with underrun detection (mixlen=11776 < > primary_done=15904) > fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne problem with underrun detection (mixlen=1948 < > primary_done=6816) > fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne problem with underrun detection (mixlen=2256 < > primary_done=6816) > (snip) > many lines like that follow and the sound is jerky > > I looked at the AppDB and found that others have managed to run the game but > with sound problems too. Thank you for your response L.Rayhen, I will do both things, as soon as I am able to clearly define and reproduce these problems. On Tuesday 06 February 2007 00:19, L.
