wine users - Jan 2006 - No keyboard input.

I'm trying to install Thomas Guide Digital Edition and I can't type the
serial number in.  The mouse works fine, I just have no keyboard input.
I noticed the keyboard is very quirky in another program I'm trying to
fix. Any idea what I can try here?

Fedora Core 4
WineTools 0.9
