Do openglide 3d games work with wine, as they don't depend on directx?
I don't know exactly what Openglide is, but Glide for 3dfx cards is supported (as long as you have the Linux Glide libraries installed). Why don't you try the games? The are even games based on DirectX that work with Wine. Openglide (OpenGL) is the open source alternative to directx, it's not hardware dependent, like glide for 3dfx, it works on windows and linux, and it's the 3d lib that almost evry linux games uses, just look at tuxraces, or at the loki games, quake arena or and 3d game on linux, some win games use it, and I just whant to know if they are in any way supported in wine. p.s. You will need Openglide for winex to display direct3d games, and I know some directx games work in wine, I got M$ age of empires trial to work, but there is no direct3d in wine.> I don't know exactly what Openglide is, but Glide for 3dfx cards is supported > (as long as you have the Linux Glide libraries installed). > Why don't you try the games? Sorry, but ati and nvidia call it Openglide (And they should now something about graphics), well yes it is an alternative to direct3d, as you don't really need anything like this for 2d games, qt or gtk is sufficent; in any case I know the installation says something about openglide, but I just whanted to know if someone has got a OpenGlide 3D game for win to run in wine, wineinstall says something about direct3d too, but there isn't any real direct3d support, just go and read the source and you will see.> Yes, OpenGL is supported. Well, I gor 2 amgazine, one with an ATI ad that talks about ther ewondreful oepnglide performance, and onewith instruction on how to install the nvidia openglide drivers, if you are sure that its open graphics lib I'll send an email to the editor.> > Am Mit, 2002-08-28 um 15.01 schrieb puoti@inwind.it: > > > Sorry, but ati and nvidia call it Openglide (And they should now > > > something about graphics), well yes it is an alternative to direct3d, > > Sorry, but they don't.
