Rcpp problems while installing httpuv / running build-dep r-base-core
Hello all,
I am in the process of trying to install Shiny Server on a DreamHost VPS.
As Shiny Server must be built on Debian, I've been muddling my way through
the steps but I have run into a roadblock w/ httpuv.
Following these <https://github.com/rstudio/httpuv> instructions, I ran the
devtools::install_github('httpuv', 'rstudio') command and received the

Error using Rcpp
Hi, Im not sure if this is the right place to post this. I am using Xubuntu
Karmic Koala and am trying to use the Rcpp package. I am testing it using a
simple code that takes in a vector and adds 1 to each element:
#include <Rcpp.h>
// This file takes in a vector and adds one to each entry
RcppExport SEXP addone(SEXP vec){
// create a local copy of vec

I am a newbie to Rcpp packages, and got problems in having basic set-ups for
Rcpp under windows xp. Here is the list I have done.
1) installed Rtools and have no problem in compiling .c file.
2) installed Rcpp packages
3) set enviroment variables 'path' to make C:\Program

Rcpp with OpenMP - Need example Makevars
Dear R experts,
recently I started developing a Rcpp package "OpenMPTest".
Within that package I want to use OpenMP, as in the following code example:
// header file
#include <omp.h>
using namespace Rcpp ;
RcppExport SEXP testOpenMP( SEXP nThreads ) ;
// cpp file
SEXP testOpenMP( SEXP nThreads ) {
BEGIN_RCPP
NumericVector numberThreads = NumericVector( nThreads );

Rcpp too good to be true?
Hello all,
I've been working on a package to do various things related to the
Conway-Maxwell-Poisson distribution and wanted to be able to make fast
random draws from the distribution. My R code was running quite slow so I
decided to give Rcpp a bash. I had used it before but only for extremely
basic stuff and always using inline. This time I decided to give making a
proper package a go.

Rcpp modules
Dear all,
my apologies for posting here instead of rcpp-devel (registration for
which did not seem to work). I try to use a Rcpp module outside a
package using the following code which should work according to posts on
this list/rcpp-devel.
library('Rcpp');
dlr = dyn.load('build/libtestlib.so');
mod = Module('testclass', PACKAGE = dlr);
cl = new(mod$testclass);

Calling C++ from R
Hi All,
I am new to this area and use Rcpp to call C++ from R and try to build the
package under Windows 7. I use Rtools and R 2.10.1 32bit. Everything works
fine with me, except using R functions like "rnorm" or "runif" in the C++
code. When I use "R CMD check" the package, it always return error

You normally see these errors when compiling on a vm that has very

installation of dplyr
Hello,
I am getting a fresh CentOS 6.7 machine set up with all of the goodies for R 3.2.3, including dplyr package. I am unable to successfully install it. Below I show the failed installation using utils::install.packages() and then again using devtools::install_github(). Each yields an error similar to the other but not quite exactly the same - the error messages sail right over my head.

MKL Acceleration encouraging; need adjust package builds?
Dear R-devel:
The Cluster administrators at KU got enthusiastic about testing
R-3.2.2 with Intel MKL when I asked for some BLAS integration. Below
I forward a performance report, which is encouraging, and thought you
would like to know the numbers. Appears to my untrained eye there are
some extraordinary speedups on Cholesky decomposition, determinants,
and matrix inversion.

Dear R-Developers,
I just started learning how to use Rcpp. Earlier while using it, I
encountered an error as shown below:

R crashing with a segmentation fault: how to locate the cause
I have a littler script which is crashing with a segmentation fault.
I tried to find out why by running it through valgrind, which produced the
output below.
I am not sure how to proceed from here (other than binary search with print
statements).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric

OK. I did found the rcpp-devel mailing-list.
But I though it was a developers of the rcpp-package.

Rcpp, dyn.load and C++ problems
Martin,
You are making your life way too complicated.
There are a number of things I would do differently:
0) Wrong list. Rcpp has its down, rcpp-devel, and I basically do not read
this and would have missed this were it not for luck.

Rcpp, dyn.load and C++ problems
I would go to the source, in this case Dirk Eddelbuettel's (I hope I
spelled it correctly) documentation for Rcpp:
http://dirk.eddelbuettel.com/code/rcpp/Rcpp-attributes.pdf
Note that you need to do
sourceCpp("logistic_map.cpp")
in R instead of building and dyn.load()-ing the object.

Setting up a windows system for rcpp
I am running into a wall getting my system to work with rcpp and inline.
Following Dirk's advice on stackoverflow, I hope someone is able to help
me.
My steps were to install MinGW 32 bit first, then installing Rtools, I
disabled MinGW's entry in the PATH.
I am trying to get the following code to work:
library(Rcpp)
library(inline)
body <- '
NumericVector xx(x);
