xmms module
Okay, here's my first hack attempt at an xmms module. I managed to link
(although not test) this with the current libvorbis CVS source (which
needed some "help" compiling) and xmms 0.9.5.1.
I'm guessing I made some fairly obvious mistakes in here which can be
hammered out even without bitstreams to test it on.

Some basic questions
Hi, I''ve started learning about EventMachine right now and have some basic
doubts. Hope you could clarify them.
I''m developing a SIP server. For now I''ve started it from scratch but I expect
to migrate it to EventMachine.
SIP is a very complex protocol. For example: if I use a SIP proxy in front of
my server then all the data will arrive to my server using the same TCP

MP3 to OGG translation?
Hello. I'm new to the list, and I've dutifully, like the good newbie (in
this list anyway) that I am, have searched through the archives, but I can
find no answer to my question.
SO...is there, or can there be, a viable MP3 to OGG translator, so that
those of us with gigabytes of MP3's (legalities aside) can translate them
to OGGs?
I don't mind ripping any NEW Cd's that

x11() in SuSE6.3 and SuSE6.4
Hi,
I compiled R-1.1.1 in 2 machines -- one running SuSE 6.3 and the other 6.4. If
I do:
> plot(jj)
the graphics window pops up in 6.3, but not in 6.4
Also, doing x11() is of no help, it merely replicates the behavior above.
I should add that being root (xhost + and su) in 6.4 does not help. Postscript
works just fine. Additional details: XFree3.3.6, KDE1.1.2 (or KDE2.0 Beta 4),

Java/MIDP Vorbis player ?
Hi!
Is there any Java Vorbis player that works on
MIDP 2.0 platforms (mobile phones) ?
I know the pure Java players, but I'm looking for a mobile version.

David

Vorbis in Windows Media Player 9, (partial) success
As I said on http://wiki.xiph.org/ClientSupport
I managed to get WMP9 under Windows 2003 to work with OGG vorbis files.
Requisite : OggDS 0.9.9.5
- they can be opened with the Open... dialog and WMP does not complain any
more that it is an unsupported file format
- they can be dragged from explorer into WMP and WMP will play them without
any complaint
- they can be added to the media library.

Ogg Vorbis DirectShow status ?
Hi!
What is the status of DirectShow support (read: playy vorbis in Windows
Media Player 9 or 10 ) ?
The vorbis.com web pages only link to some ancient web pages (xwmedia and
tobias).
I remember there was a wiki page about setting this up (partially written by
me),
but can't find it any more.
Was the idea of playing ogg/vorbis in DS applications dropped ?

Are the ogg/vorbis programs updated to v1.0.1 ?
OggDrop for example ?

Fwd: Re: WAVE loader for oggenc and oggdrop]
I am resending this ( for the third time, mispelled vorbis-dev-@xiph.org ),
because the last time it didn't make it ( it didn't
appear on the web archive at www.xiph.org , the archive of vorbis-list
for the current month is broken BTW )

Broken mail list web archive
Hi!
The page http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis/masterindex.html
links to http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis/date.html ,
whic gives a 404 error ( not found ).
Just like last time ( begin of november ), when I reported it just like now.
And I was ignored, just like now (?).

Configure problems
I'm trying to compile on an Amiga for PPC using GNU but the configure script stops at
this for libvorbis:
<p>aclocal: configure.in: 42: macro `AM_PROG_LIBTOOL' not found in library
make: *** [aclocal.m4] Error 1
<p>and this for libao:
<p>checking size of short... configure: error: can not run test program while cross compiling
How do I fix this?

ggplot2 reorder factors for faceting
Dear List
I am trying to draw a heatmap using ggplot2. In this heatmap I have faceted my data by 'infection' of which I have four. These four infections break down into two types and I would like to reorder the 'infection' column of my data to reflect this.
Toy example below:
library(ggplot2)
# test data for ggplot reordering
genes <- (rep (c(rep('a',4),

listening conditions
Hi!
What are the assumed listening conditions in vorbis ?
For example there are big differences in perceived sound
when listening with headphones compared to listening with
speakers. ( "super stereo effect" , different frequency
response due to HRTF etc ... ).
Is this stuff worth considering in a vorbis class encoder ?
