Directory missing on RH 7.3
Hello all.
Thanks for all the support.
I'm at the very beginning stage of an upgrade. I'm trying to # sh makerpms.sh, but it complains about there not being /usr/src/redhat/something/something, and I check and its not there. I went to my router which is running RedHat 7.1, and its there. Does 7.1 & 7.3 have different directory structures, or what's the story? Did I delete

Print share using hpoj.
Hello all.
The set up: - Kernel 2.4.18-3
- HP Office Jet K80.
- USB port
- hpoj-0.8 driver
I've been struggling installing and configuring the new driver for Linux/USB printing, due to a couple of silly mistakes.
The question here is are there any differences in setting up a print server using this new driver than the usual

Samba print share.
Hello all.
I'm failing to see the properties of my Samba shared printer.
When I click on properties, or most of the options in the dropdown, I get the following error:
Function address 0x37e10a3 causes a protection fault. (exception code 0xc0000005) Some or all property page(s) may not be displayed.
Does anyone know what this is referring to? Is the problem with the share or the Win2K pc?

Profiles XP and Service Pack 1
Hi List,
we have a 130+ PC network running windows XP on the clients, with win2000
and
samba servers (SuSE 7.3 distribution rpm for samba 2.2.3 and SuSE 8.0
selfcompiled samba 2.2.5).
The windows servers just authenticate the users, and provide some additional
services (Terminal Server and some special software packages). Print- and
File-
services are provided by the samba servers.

Roaming profiles problem
Hey all,
I've got a few WinXP workstations logging into a 2.2.4pre (CVS from April
30th, around 8 p.m. PDT) PDC, and I'm having some sort of odd problem with
roaming profiles.
The XP workstations can successfully (it seems) retrieve and save thier
profiles to the samba box; however, if I log off a user, say "gary", from
one workstation, and travel to the next one, and log in

XP woes
Working with Windows XP and debian Samba 2.2.3a on a box as my PDC. Sign
or seal patch
was applied. The past few days when we have been adding new computers
running windows XP to
the domain we have had machines tell us they have joined the domain, but
when we
try to log onto them using a "domain" account we get the following error on
the
PC:

Problem joing a W2KSP1 client to a Samba PDC (2.2.5).
Hi,
I'am running a small samba server at work with 10+ users in the domain (all
of them added with W2KSP1 and 2.2.3 or 2.2.4). I uppgraded to 2.2.5 a while
back and has not experienced any problem with it, but when I try to add a
newly installed W2KSP1 client to the domain I get the following entries in
the log file:

My Documents folder and roaming profiles.
Hi All,
I don't know whether here is the right place to ask as this question is
probably more Windows related than Samba related but I thought someone here
might have some ideas.
I've got a Samba 2.2.5 PDC (running on FreeBSD but that doesn't really
matter) serving Windows XP machines.
The roaming profiles are set to be stored in a different share to the users
home directory so

Printing:using usb port.
Hello All.
Thanks for the help so far. I've managed to get the 'access denied' error to disappear with the suggestion of 'use client driver = yes'. This worked, Thanks.
By the way, I'm running Samba 2.2.3a
I'm still not printing though. I removed the printers I configured using 'printconf-tui' and added a new local printer device, using /dev/usb. This was

(no subject)
A good day to you all. i dont seemt to be having any luck joining Windows XP machines into my domain. This i find quite peculiar, since i have had no problems with win98, winnt, or win2k machines.
The Windows XP machine is able to see the domain, and reports that it has joined the domain after i enter the domain admin account and password. But after the reboot, i can't seem to log on

Chow test(1960)/Structural change test
Hi,
A question on something which normally should be easy !
I perform a linear regression using lm function:
> reg1 <- lm (a b+c+d, data = database1)
Then I try to perform the Chow (1960) test (structural change test) on my regression. I know the breakpoint date. I try the following code like it is described in the “Examples” section of the “strucchange” package :

Chow Test
Hello R-users!
I tried to find a package to run a CHOW TEST. As a reference package I found
the STRUCCHANGE package. Do you know if it works well otherwise can you
recommend a different one?
Thanks, Bernd

Help with semaphores
I'm looking for some help from any Asterisk "heavy" who might be doing
something similar to what I'm trying to do...
Background:
I work for a research lab, testing telephony products and tools.
Historically, we used Ameritec Crescendos and Fortissimos to act as load
generators and call "sinks" when testing equipment. However, the
equipment we are testing gets
