Need help with Oblivion
Good evening my fellow Linux enthusiasts,
for some time now I've been trying to run "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" on WINE with very little success.
I've gotten it to play but with no sound and very glitchy graphics. The various menus flicker wildly and the characters are messed up.
A while ago I launched Oblivion from the terminal and here's what I got from it:

Re: Oblivion graphics problem
I have a similar problem. Some characters are see through, and random stuff jumps out, like to white lines when I draw out my fists right above the my fists. Gameplay is okay, with no lagging. Also, I can't install its patch for the North American English version. Is this a regression?

Starcraft 2, oblivion, potentially skyrim and dota2?
Hello! I'm considering to get Linux on my computer, and do you guys think it would be reasonable easy to start up skyrim at the release date without TOO much work?
Does starcraft 2 run easily? Oblivion? and potentially DoTA2?
I know it might be difficult to answer about the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but since I think you guys know your sh***. I thought you'd might have an idea :)

Low Framerate in Oblivion
I've been getting max 10 FPS in Oblivion, even with extremely low graphics settings. Any ideas why? I didn't have any problems with running Oblivion on Windows, and even for Wine this seems quite low. I think it might be my graphics card drivers possibly.
OS: Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic
GPU: nVidia 8600M GT
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2 GHz
GPU Driver: Version 195 (I got it by going System ->

GLSL errors please help as soon as possible.
I am trying very hard to get Elder scrolls oblivion working on playonlinux. I found out that a key factor in this is the GLSL setting. When it is disabled the game will run great with no errors except for the fact that the players charecter and npcs have horrible graphical glitches.

Oblivion loses sound during game play
I've filed a bug in bugzilla (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24271) which explains a how Oblivion loses sound during the gameplay.
However, I found a workaround to it, which I posted on comment http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24271#c5
So I wish to rename this bug to "Oblivion loses sound during gameplay".
Is it possible to rename a bug in bugzilla?
Another question is:

Oblivion sound effects mutted on wine-1.1.38
I have tested wine-1.1.38 with Oblivion on Gentoo and I found that the sound effects are no more being played.
I`m new to wine bugzilla and I don`t know a proper way to report bugs and regressions.
Please if someone is able to report this bug or help me find a way to fix it, I will be glad.

Hello all,
I'm pretty much a newbie in linux, and I'm trying to play The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on Linux Mint 12.
I installed wine-1.2.3 according to the readme file (I hope).
command:
Code:
wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Bethesda\ Softworks/Oblivion/OblivionLauncher.exe
gives:
Code:
err:wgl:opengl_error No OpenGL support compiled in.

oblivion - data3.cab & black face of hero
Greetings,
during installation of Oblivion - Game of the Year Edition GOTY in
German on wine-1.3.21 the installation asks for inserting Disc 0 with
the file data3.cab. Well, there is no such data3.cab on the DVD.
Workaround for me was booting to WinXP, installing Oblivion there,
booting to Gentoo, mounting the WinXP partition and copying the
directory Oblivion to a suitable place in ~/.wine.

Rubbish performance in Oblivion
Hi there,
I've been trying to play The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion under Linux. But under WINE performance is horrible. 640 x 480 minimum settings, and I'm getting about 4 FPS. The game runes maxed out at 1680 x 1050 with 4xAA all settings to maximum smooth on Windows.
Wine 1.1.6
Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex
fglrx 8.10
ATi Radeon 3870.
I appreciate any responses. Btw Direct Rendering is
