Advice on best operator phone (with attendant console)
One of our clients is using a Grandstream GXP2000 with an attendant console. We have used the same phone with past clients successfully however this particular operator processes around 200 calls a hours and the GXP2000 for sure does not like the quick line shuffling and call volume. We get the following problems randomly: 1. menu stops working 2. transfer key stops working 3. Line 1 LED gets

SPA-962 & Asterisk
Good Day, I have been tasked with fixing the time on our asterisk server. I am having a hard time finding documentation to tell my what asterisk uses to get its time information to push to phones (or a better question, where does the SPA-962 get its time information)? Basically, I can go under the settings of the phone and change the offset to set the correct hour, but it is still about 4

BLF/Call Pickup using SPA942, SPA962, SPA932
Hi all, There are a lot of posts around the web about my question; unfortunately I have not been able to get any of the solutions to work. I'm using Asterisk 1.6.2.8 under CentOS 5.5. I'm trying to get call pickup working for the secretaries that monitor their bosses' phones. The BLF and the speed dial works great on the Linksys phones. Call pickup is the problem. My features.conf

cisco spa phones and sal
Hi ?? I have been trying for several days get 3 Cisco spa508g phones (firmware 7.5.5) to work with asterisk 11.6 cert1 and sla. I can get the phones to all ring when an incoming call arrives, and I see the slatrunk working. However the blf function does not work. If one extension picks up the call the others do not show the trunk in use.? And as you might expect the hold and outbound dialing does

Call parking issue with Cisco SPA phone
I'm trying to implement call parking with asterisk and Cisco SPA504G phones: features.conf parkext => 700 parkpos => 701-702 context => parkedcalls I defined one of the unused keys to park the calls: Key2: fnc=sd;ext=700 at 10.0.1.103;vid=1;nme=Park I also defined two other keys to pickup/unpark the calls: Key3: fnc=blf+sd+cp;sub=701 at 10.0.1.103 Key4: fnc=blf+sd+cp;sub=702 at

Busy Lamp Field
Some days ago there was a subject regarding BLF (SIP Phone-receptionist Setup). We are the developers of a Price Verify Terminal for a French company. We have developed the hardware (small board based on a PPC 823e), working with Linux embedded (based on Wolfgang Denk's work). I think that it can be a good BLF. Probably it is possible to integrate the Nicolas's FOP or a new application.

Asterisk 11 - BLF on Custom devices
In testing Asterisk 11, I've found that Asterisk doesn't seem to be sending BLF updates to SIP peers that have subscribed to a hint looking at a Custom device if that Custom device state is RINGING or RING_INUSE. All other states seem to be working correctly. The hint section of the dialplan is: [hints] exten => _3XX,hint,Custom:${EXTEN} Console shows the following for core show

SIP NOTIFY to make linksys/cisco SPA BLF go yellow
Hi, I was wondering if anyone stumbled upon the correct event in a sip NOTIFY (from a SUBSCRIBE) to make the BLF lamps on a Linksys/Cisco SPA9xx/5xx go yellow? I'm trying to differentiate between "On the Phone" and "DND" with the BLF. Thanks. -- James

Feedback on Linksys SPA-921 and GrandStream GXP-2000
Hello I'm about to order a GrandStream GXP-2000 and a Linksys SPA-921 I'd like to have some user feedback about how those phones perform, and whether their LCD screen displays both the caller ID name and number (The GrandStream BT-100 only displays numbers, which isn't very helpful). Thank you.

Asterisk, bicolor BLF and DEVSTATE
Hi, 1. You can now find several SIP harphones with bicolor BLFs (see Polycom, Cisco, ...). Is there a protocol which best describes how to use this bicolor BLD feature ? 2. I would like to map these BLFs to the following user activities : - user is logged off: no light - user is logged in: green light - phone is ringing: blinking light - user is on call: red light It seems that

*77 does not work ..
I have a SPA-2001 and I didn't realize I could use calling features on an analog handset. Does that mean you can dial *77 and use a VOIP feature? (like forward or hold)? Receptionists Phone suggestions? (Not Snom370)
Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent receptionists phone? Aastra? Grandstream? Something with (potentially) lots of BLFs, large(ish) screen, headset and most importantly the ability to transfer calls? I've installed five Snom 370s that seemed ideal but my client is very very unhappy as the Snom 370 can't transfer a call correctly if there's another call coming in (details

SPA-841 Call waiting?
Has anyone gotten call-waiting to function on the 4 line SPA-841? I've seen some documents that say it can do it, some say no way. If yes, can you share configs / SPA-841 settings? If no, did you work around it? I can call out just fine on all 4 lines, however, if I am on the line, another call coming in does not ring the 2nd line...it just goes to busy / VM. -Darren

SIP Presence across two servers
Hi All, We've been running Asterisk for years in our offices but just recently replaced an Asterisk Appliance* in our smaller office with an actual server, upgraded the server in hardware in our HQ location and upgrading both ends to 11.5.0 with Gareth's patch for Cisco phones. 99.99% of our endpoints are Cisco 7961Gs. Each office is more-or-less standalone for ease of management and

Nice Transfer Feature
I just noticed the Aastra 57i do something that I haven't seen before. I called from one phone (phone 1) to the 57i. I answered it. Then, I pressed Transfer and dialed the extension for the third phone (in this case a Cisco 7960 in Sip). I did not answer the Cisco, but noticed the caller ID was showing the Aastra (as expected). I hung up the Aastra to complete the transfer and noticed the

dropped calls from queue
We're having a strange problem with our receptionist. She runs an xpro softphone and we're using a queue to handle incoming calls. It seems nearly all of the calls that come in through the queue get dropped. At first we thought it might have been human error (clicking the wrong button in xpro or something) or that the person waiting in the queue just gave up and hungup, however it

SPA-3000 generating one-ring calls
This is a wierd one. Can't figure it out. I have an SPA-3000 at the house handling my incoming line. It's setup to direct the incoming call to asterisk. Works great 99% of the time. A few times a day, I'm getting calls that ring once internally and are then hungup. I managed to get a detailed log [1] of what's happening today and it looks to me that the SPA is acting wierd.

Echo on SPA-3000 FXO
I've had an spa3k in service here at the house for a while now. After some initial wrangling, it's been working okay. I've had to reboot it a couple times and have noticed something rather annoying though. My setup is pretty simple and, dare I say, common. I have the SPA-3000 "inline" between my incoming POTS line and the internal house phone. It's setup to deliver
