Buddywatch on Polycom 601 crashes phone
We are running 2.1.1 with 3 expansion modules. Presence in turned on in
sip.cfg, hints are set up on the extensions and buddy watch is enabled on
about 40 extensions mapped to the expansion modules. We have 3 paging
groups: "Building A" with 20 phones, "Building B" with 20 phones and "Both
with all 40 phones. When Building A or B is paged separately, the 601
handles it

Page app, Polycom IP 601, 60 SIP peers, Interesting Issue
Hi All,
I have a pretty standard Asterisk PBX setup with 60 SIP Peers, mostly
Polycom 501's and a receptionist phone, Polycom IP 601 with 3 attached
sidecars and Buddy Watch enabled monitoring all other SIP phones.
The problem occurs when a group (all SIP peers) Page is called. Not
always but sometimes when the Page is executed, the IP 601 will become
unreachable from Asterisk. So when the

Using a sidecar? Ideas?
I'm looking for some ideas of people who have setup a sidecar (eg: Aastra
560M).
Obviously it's handy for BLF (to see who's on a call)...but what else?
Anyone want to share interesting things they've done with a sidecar?

IP 650 Sidecar
Is the IP 650 sidecar compatible with asterisk?
If I pair it with the IP 650 phone, can I have more than 6 "lines" registered w/ the server?

Polycom SP 601 Reboot Issue- Help!
I have a Polycom 601 with 3 expansion modules running 2.0.3. We have
Buddywatch set up on around 42 users on the expansion modules. We are
experiencing reboots on the 601. Today it happened twice after users paged
through the phones. The page groups have about 23 phones each. There is a
third page group comprising all 46 phones. I'm thinking it may be an issue
with changing buddywatch

Sip Sidecar Options
Hi all,
One of the things that I keep being asked for is a sidecar for the
receptionist phone. Are there any SIP phones available on the market
with a sidecar in addition to the snom? Or is the snom my only option?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Max

Polycom Blf / Directed Pickup
Would anyone happen to have some examples of polycom configs,
specifically the 650 with sidecar for blf.
I have the asterisk side all configured since I've set up blf with other
types of phones, but I'm missing the polycom side.
I've put together a <mac>-directory.xml, and the sidecar now lists
numbers as speed dials but does not subscribe to blf.

Snom360 Sidecar & Asterisk
We are looking to replace our existing Legacy PBX with Asterisk. Our
receptionist currently has a light display for a certain extension when
someone is on a call. When she needs to transfer she simply hits that
button.
Is it possible to use a snom360 + Sidecar to monitor 30 extensions and make
transfers using the buttons? Does the Cisco 7960 expansion module work with
asterisk?
Thanks.

[VOIP-Users-Conference] Re: Opinions please: Polycom IP 430 vs 330?
Let me add another variable into the mix...what about the Linksys
SPA-962? Good, bad or otherwise? The 32 button sidecar seems like a
deal at $80 street price.

Snom870 sidecar
Hi,
Watching Snom 870's video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9e8hPxX0oDU), you
can see a new sidecar (phone extension) which seem very interesting.
Has someone details on this extension ?
Any release date or/and data sheet ?

Paging Application - Polycom 601
Asterisk 1.2.13 - Evolution PBX from Intuitive Voice Technologies
We have an installation of 35 SIP phones (Polycom 501) and
one receptionist phone (Polycom 601). I have 15 of the 501s
set up to accept a "Page". From what I understand, the "Page"
is done using the asterisk page application that throws the
extensions into a conference room and then set the originating

High volume BLF - Suggestions?
Hi,
We have a user who is putting large call volumes through Asterisk, and
wants to BLF monitor up to 90 extensions. We are struggling to find a
handset that can keep up with Asterisk :)
1) Is there a handset that will do this?
2) Is there a different (standard) way to send BLF and allow directed pickups?
2a) Or even a handset specific way?
Asterisk handles the BLF volume fine, even on quite

Receptionist Phones (was 3Com Phones)
Thanks for all the comments on the 3Com phones. Thankfully, there
is a large number of phones out there to dig through looking for the
right solution.
What I have not been able to find, after spending all weekend
looking, is a good solution for an attendant console. We have 2
receptionists that need to be able to view all 60+ phones (we could
probably weed it down a bit if we had to,

Polycom 601 stops ringing
I have an odd issue, where a polycom 601 stops ringing, or more properly, maybe, stops *being* rung, when a call comes in. Other phones/extensions, continue to work fine, they being run at the same time.
My dial plan works fine (?) seems it will ring properly, right after a reboot. It works fine for outgoing calls at all times.
Hints?

Polycom 601 message waiting indicator
Hi,
I'm used to the Polycom 501, with a big message light indicator that flashes
when I have a message waiting.
As far as I can see when looking at pictures, the 601 (and 650) do not have
this indicator light (nor does the 550 for that matter). How does it show
the user that it has a message waiting?

Mike

Polycom 601 -- programming buttons.
Hi, all. I want to have a button on my receptionist's 601 that, when
pressed, will forward her current call to a given extension. Is there any
way to do that? I've tried to RTFM, but I'm coming up empty.
Thanks,
