Hi, I am investigating getting a wifi VoIP phone because its may be a better option than an ATA and a cordless phone.. Does anyone have any experience with the whats out there?? Do they support things like WPA etc?? I have heard the battery life can be a problem.. Is this the case? Thanks..

We are using SPA-2002s and PAP2Ts to service our VoIP customers. It seems that one of our customers (female) has a voice that is just right that it generates DTMF tones when she talks... I know I've seen this sporatically, but this seems to happen often on her line, and I'm curious if there are any settings on the device to alter this behaviour?

I have a problem where if an agent's extension is busy and has voicemail the queue app will follow the dialplan and send the caller to an agents voicemail. This is really bad, because it takes the caller out of the queue when it hits that agent. But we also would like to have voicemail for some extensions like the shift managers etc. Is there s solution/workaround/patch? Thanks, -Ryan

All, Slightly off topic. Polycom released their SIP software version 1.6.6 for their phones recently. I was under the impression that this release fixed a previous limitation where the phones would only watch 7 buddies, ie send 7 sip subscriptions to Asterisk. I have configured a phone directory to watch 30 or so appearances, and it still seems to only be sending 7 subscriptions to Asterisk.

I need to find a way to have the Polycom phones automatically park calls. Right now my users hit #70# (I know the last # is optional but it speeds it up.) to park a call. I just got a Polycom soundpoint and I set it up using the phone and web based admin. I cant seem to figure out the config files and they are confusing me greatly and I dont have time for it :) Some things are odd, like on every reboot it seems the volume I set is reset? is there any way to fix that. I have an extension setup in my extensions.conf for hold music. ext. 600. If I pick up a phone (polycom soundpoint 300 sip) and dial extension 600 I hear the hold music playing. If I call another extension and pick it up and put the call on hold with the hold button on the phone I hear nothing at all. Does anyone have any experience with these phones and getting the hold button to work?
