Asterisk@Home and iax.cc / sixTel
Hi,
How is iax.cc / sixTel to be configured as a termination provider in
asterisk@home?
The iax.cc / sixTel instructions tell you to do this:
iax.conf:
------------
[sixTel]
type = friend
host = iax2.sixtel.net
context = inbound
secret = mypassword
allow = all
extensions.conf:

Sixtel.net / IAX.CC - Vanity Toll-Free Numbe r
Hi,
I've tried to make toll-free DID work for the last 2-3 weeks. Apparently
only the IAX.CC/Sixtel personnel can make a call to my toll-free. Anybody
else just gets a busy signal. It takes for them about 5-6 business days to
respond to my request. It seems they are looking in the once a week to the
High priority tickets.
It also seems that they are permanently closed ! No matter when I

Sixtel.net / IAX.CC - Vanity Toll-Free Number
How long does it take to get a vanity number? I signed up for an account,
pre-paid some money, and then placed a vanity number order. I did all of
that around Dec. 31st 2004. They said it would take 2-10 business days. It
is now Feb. 15th and still no vanity number. I've called them about a dozen
times and every time they tell me to keep calling the number to check it and
just wait. I'm

[asterisk-biz] DIDX Receives Digium Innovation Award
All of the emails I get from the list have the correct time with the
exception of the typical list slowness.
All of your emails (and only your emails and spam) are approximately 11
or twelve hours in the future. The email I am responding to has the
correct day but the time reads 11:13 PM.
I am using Thunderbird 2.0.0.5. If using Outlook, I think the time is
correct.
Thanks,
Steve

RE: Asterisk-Users Digest, Vol 21, Issue 130
Have you thought about making them agents, they would both be reachable by dialing there agent number then, and I know only one agent can be logged in at once. Just a thought.

SixTel?
I was just checking out the dids for all of my fail over providers and
noticed that neither DID that I have with SixTel work.
Both pause for a long long time
The local number gives a recording: 'The number you have dialed is not
in service or is assigned in a different area code. Please check your
number and dial again'.
The 800 number just rings busy.
Anyone else having this issue or

How to get in touch with sixTel?
If anybody here is a sixTel customer, can you share any tips & tricks
for getting in touch with anybody there? They are absurdly hard to get a
hold of, particularly when you have a technical issue needing to be
resolved. If anyone has any phone numbers other than their main 800
line, I'd sure appreciate it.
Thank you,
Bryan

Sixtel is still alive?
Whoa, talk about flying under the radar. I got a few DIDs *months* ago
from Sixtel (or iax.cc). Initial respone was great, but then it seemed
that the only tech-support person had fled the country. No responses,
bad responses, poor call-quality. I had a few $s left in the balance
and kind-a just forgot about them. Not worth 10 minutes of my time to
get $10 of my money back, quite frankly.

Has Sixtel gone under?
I have been using Sixtel from the beginning of the year and service was
getting worse and worse. Yesterday I tried to access the website to get the
CDR and I got an error saying that the domain no longer exists. I checked the
whois and it says that the domain is on hold. Have they finally folded?

DID Provider
I am using DIDx.net as my DID provider but they don't seem to get their act together. A lot of times the phone numbers don't work. How can provide my own DID, my asterisk server is being hosted at a Data center and has a reliable vendor that does my termination and do SIP to SIP and have no T1 channels.

iax.cc / sixtel are they legitimate?
Does anyone have any experience with iax.cc/sixtel?
Are they a legitimate company? From their website
it looks like you can get a private incoming 800
number for 30 cents/month plus 2 cents/minute.
Somehow that pricing seems a little cheap for a
DID number. I assume there has to be some minimum
usage or something. Any info as far as actual costs
and/or voice quality would be appreciated.

Beware of DIDX & Super Technologies
I assume most people here know what a joke DIDX is -- but in case you
didn't already know, please avoid these people.
Basic features of their service don't work, their tech support
refuses/drags their feet to fix them for a month and if you post
publicly about them, they terminate your service.
Instead of investing their effort in reading mailinglists to terminate
customers maybe they

Any experience with Sixtel--tollfreedirect--iax.cc?
Appears to be a diversified company (Google of it shows that they do web
design, VOIP, etc.). But this link caused me concern.

Asterisk with Vonage
I know Vonage doesn't officially have a "bring your own device" type
program, but they do offer a softphone. Has anyone gotten Asterisk to
connect directly to Vonage? This would be a great help!!

Call forwarding of IAX inbound call
I am trying to do the following:
1. Call comes in to my * box over IAX (VP Connect DID)
2. Check to see if call should be forwarded to my cell
3. Forward the call to my cell phone and take * out of the media path.
I am able to do all of the above except * is not able to natively
bridge the call. I am using sixtel and for the call forward portion,
but the calls don't connect before sixtel
