At home Asterisk via Broadvoice?
Hi all - sorry if what I'm asking is FAQ by now - I only have 2789 digest
messages that I've not read yet...
?
The local phone company (Bell South) has gotten completely out of hand with
their rates, and with them suing anyone who wants to compete against
them...? So, I'm thinking very hard about going ALL VOIP here at home.

RE: Asterisk at home with Broadvoice?
As a general rule of thumb it would be good to make the distinction
between 'Credit Card' and 'Debit Card' too.
If possible, never ever use a debit card for online purchases.
It taps directly into your account and removes REAL money.
Credit cards are 'virtual' money in that they are credit and your cash
in account remains untouched.
That way if your credit card account

Broadvoice latest changes and still not working- An Additional Server
I have been going crazy with this also since Sat.
Our server was working perfectly with BV but will now not place calls
to BV.
Incoming from BV works fine.
I felt sad rebooting it today, it had been running for almost 200 days!
Here is my error message from the console...

RE: Asterisk at home with Broadvoice?
Outward dialing is a no brainer. VoipJet is the best outbound call
provider I have come across. Period.
It always works for me and the call quality is always very very good.
So far that seems to be the norm for them.
I am still working on getting my inward DIDs solidified so no opinion
there...

Restrict outbound calls on Broadvoice
Hello,
I have been researching Asterisk and have a few questions. Is it possible to allow users to only call certain area codes? Reason for this is that the plan from BroadVoice allows unlimited calling to certain countries. Any country outside of this plan would be charged on a per minute basis and I am trying to avoid that.
Another question is if there is a way to distinguish a land line

BroadVoice WiSIP with Asterisk
BroadVoice sells a wireless SIP phone for $149. Does this phone as sold
by BroadVoice work with Asterisk or is it a locked down device like the

Broadvoice - Customer feedback
Hi all,
Can any broadvoice customers give me their opinions on the service
recently? It's actually been pretty quiet on the list lately regarding
them, so it seems to me that they're either getting things straightened
out or everyone has dropped the service.
Thank you in advance

broadvoice NCFA numbers
I just tried to call a NCFA number that is known working in the UK (+44
0870 ..) and got a US message from broadvoice 'that number is not in
service please check the number and try again'. I am wondering if it is
my setup or if broadvoice no longer provides unlimited access to those
numbers.
Could someone else verify if this is the case? It is still listed on
their rate page as

How to rid yourself of Broadvoice
If you're having problems cancelling your Broadvoice service like I was
simply do the following:
1) Dial 1-978-418-7300 (don't block your caller ID/CPN).
2) Announce your displeasure with the service to their voicemail (it
should tell you something that you have to leave voicemail to get
support). Expletives will reduce the waiting in step 3 from 10 minutes
to 5 minutes.
3) Wait 10

Broadvoice and incoming DTMF
Hi,
We've been using Broadvoice with * for several months, mostly successfully.
However, sometime last weekend (Sat, Dec 4 - Mon, Dec 6), BV seems to
have stopped passing DTMF on incoming calls. We've not made any changes
to the * system during this time. We even switched to using their DC server
instead of the usual LA server, with no effect on the problem.
We have applied the

Broadvoice outage times?
Has anyone been watching and logging when broadvoice becomes
unstable? Is it only peak hours, or is it random? If its somewhat
consistant, I'd like to enforce some time of day routing in my dialplan.
Otherwise I may just close the account altogether.

Help With Broadvoice
Hi all,
I am trying to configure my Asterisk PBX to connect to a broadvoice
account. I want incoming calls to go to the "s" extension and to
ultimately have outbound calls routed through my broadvoice account(s).
I cannot for the life of me get this to register correctly. I am
currently receiving this message on the console:

USING TWO ACCOUNTS WITH BROADVOICE
Hi,
I have two accounts with broadvoice.
Now, I want to be able to distinguish between them.
I though that this would be simple by adding "/EXTEN" at the end of the
register statement. For example:
register => num1:pass@sip.broadvoice.com/1000
Unfortunately, this is not working.
When I call into my box I hear busy tone.
My config looks like this:
[root@voip asterisk]# cat sip.conf

Asterisk@Home, AMP, and Broadvoice
Egad, not again with Broadvoice! Anyhow, I recently installed AAH and
configured my TDM11B and got that and some SIP phones working. I still
have some issues to work out, etc, but my current problem is Broadvoice.
I have checked out all of the online resources, including the recent
list exchange about the recent changes made by Broadvoice. However, the

Broadvoice outbound 404 error
Is anyone else experiencing 404 errors on outbound dial with Broadvoice? I've
followed the instructions posted by Broadvoice to configure sip.conf, and
inbound calling works fine. Every time I try to dial out, I get a 404 "Not

Here are the relevant sections from my configs.

BroadVoice usage?
Hi all,
I've been trying to use BroadVoice as a SIP service provider. They don't
officially
support * but are helpful when it comes to answering questions for setup
parameters. They claim they have no firewalls or access lists that need to be
set up so I can get access to their servers.
However, something's still not quite right when I use the parameters.
It looks like our Asterisk

CallerID - Broadvoice vs. VoicePulse
Until recently, I was using Broadvoice for my in/out calling thru
Asterisk. I was extremely pleased to see that Broadvoice was actually
passing the callerid info (number and text) that I had set up on each
device in my SIP.CONF file. I had PSTN users tell me that they were
actually seeing name and extension info when I called them from the
Asterisk box.
Last week, due to numerous user quality
