strange permission denied problem
I built an embedded box which uses mount.cifs to mount network
shares. I've shipped several of these and all are working fine except
for one, which gives me permission denied on certain files:

Asterisk distribution for a Call Center
Dear all, I need to build a PBX based on Asterisk for a call center. I
have worked with raw Asterisk but it's hard to work for big
implementations think.
Also I have worked with Trixbox CE for a small bussines and it was
prette good, but I have not have many features like ACD. I know there
is another version called Trixbox PRO -specially Call Center edition-

Tobit model on unbalanced panel
Appreciate any suggestions regarding how to fit an unbalanced panel data to
a Tobit model using R functions. I am trying to analyze how real estate
capital expenditures (CapEx) are affected by market conditions using a panel
Tobit model. The CapEx is either positive or 0, so it is censored. The data
are unbalanced panel, including the CapEx of about 5000 properties over
about 40 quarters, with the

Using asterisk for a 911 call center....
Has anyone had any experience using asterisk for a 911 call center? Does anyone know of any reason why it would not be suitable? As far as I know all 911 call routing takes place at the CO switch so a regular T1 line should work fine. I understand that there is support for ACD in asterisk and that is should be possible to implement screen pop (CTI). Any comments?

Using Asterisk on Call Center
Dear Asterisk Users,
Anyone deploy Asterisk technology on Call Centre? Could you share your
experience?
Is Asterisk providing ACD features? How user friendly is it?

Call Center Reporting Tools
Hello! I am new to both the list and to "*". Can someone direct me to
some documentation concerning the reporting tools available for use with
"*" as a call-center system? Specifically, things like ACD offer/taken,
wrap-time, and such? Thanks very much.
This looks like an exciting project. I'm looking forward to playing
with it!

call center: agents, queues, sip
Hi,
I am doing some tests with Asterisk's ACD capability, and as far as I
could go I have realized that each agent defined in agents.conf must
keep a session (call) open with Asterisk in order to be considered
online. When a user calls, the agent receives a beep notification in his
softphone and he answers to the pending call in the open channel and
after the call ends he remains on the open

Server hangs on CentOS 5.5
Hi --
I'm running a server which is usually stable, but every
once in a while it hangs. The server is used as a file
store using NFS and to run VMware machines.
I don't see anything in /var/log/messages or elsewhere
to indicate any problem or offer any clue why the system
was hung.
Any suggestions where I might look for a clue?

Asterisk ACD with Polycom IP501
Has anybody got the polycom acd function to work? I have the following
setup:

error when doing a make install about needing a newer version of libpri and
zaptel, I got the above versions from asterisk.org, are there newer version
anywhere else?

ACD calls to busy agents
One of my friends is facing this problems and I could not find any
solution to that. Hence this post.
In her Asterisk PBX, she has programmed about 10 agents, and strategy is
rrmemory. Everything works fine. When an agent has received an ACD call,
another call is not presented to him as long as he is on the ACD call.
However when an agent has made an outgoing call, he is still presented

Is there is an open source ACD component for Asterisk?
Likewise, is there an open source CTI component that will work with

ACD Issues
Alright, folks. I just deployed * into full production at my office.
We have around 50 7905's, 5 7940's, and a handful of soft clients. We
run a call center with around 15 agents. I also have a queue set up for
the receptionists so that they don't get bombarded with calls.
Everything seems to be working with a very few minor glitches.
I firmly believe that the few problems we are

ACD queue question
I have a simple 4 person ACD queue using the AgentCallback function. No
matter what strategy I use, anytime someone calls into the queue
asterisk dials the agents in the order that they are listed in the
agents.conf file. This doesn't seem right to me, or am I wrong.

Transferring a call with IAX
Here's an interesting question:
If I transfer a call from Asterisk system to another with IAX, is there any way I can get control back on the original system? Or.. do I lose control, and the dialplan has to continue on the new system?
Scenario is we transfer calls to an Asterisk system that handles ACD queues. If the ACD queue times out, we want to send the caller to voicemail on another

ACD/queues question
Hi there,
Does anyone know how to setup an overflow queue? When a call rings on
the queue A, if all agents were busy, the call goes to the queue B.
If all agents in queue B were busy, then the call stays on both queues
until somebody answers it.
I think this is a basic ACD feature available on most PBX that support
ACD functionality.
Does anybody knows how to do it with asterisk??

Astersk as AVAYA IVR
I'm thinking about using asterisk as an IVR system with an existing avaya index system.
I've got 2x PRI 30 lines coming in to the Index, and I have 4 spare PRI cards in the Index. I was thinking about using a QUAD PRI card from Digium and having the calls come into the Index then transfer to Asterisk for IVR then back to the Index. That way if we get 60 inbound calls we'd in
