Asterisk and Cisco PRI gateway config
Hello, I am using a Cisco-2,811 router with PRI as a gateway between Asterisk and Nortel TX-1. I had problems with name transfer and with the help of Cisco support I've fixed it. Enclosed here are the definitions needed for it. BTW, Cisco's CCM is using MGCP thus the Q.sig is handled by CCM. Here I am using SIP so the router must decode/encode the Q.sig. The Nortel should be defined

Asterisk Causing Cisco 7200 Router to Crash?
Hi, We are having an issue here. It seems that whenever we initialize Asterisk on our network, the router that the Asterisk server is connected to (Cisco 7200) crashes and loses it configuration. This has happended five times and each time we have tested it, it is always when Asterisk starts up. Has anyone else seen this problem? It is very odd because this is a very good router and we

Cisco SIP license?
In order to use a cisco phone and the SIP image, do you need a license, or just the firmware. Is this like saying that you can get music, all you need is something like kazza? Or if you get the phone and the image are you legit? What does it take to get the lic? Asterisk to Cisco's Rescue...again...Authenticate LD Calls
Hi All, Just wanted to share a story: We turned up a new customer yesterday evening, typical situation, Cisco 2600 Router with T1 PRI card pointed to the customer's analog PBX with 2 data T1's linked back to our network. The router PRI was configured as a gateway on our CCM 4, like we've done numerous times in the past. The customer needed LD Authorization codes enabled, got

Cisco 76XX - How to ignore a call (silence ring)
I am preparing to setup a system using Cisco 7940 and 7960's I have the 7.1 SIP firmware on them. One issue I have run into is how to silence the ringer if a call comes in and you don't want to take it. Many phones have a DND button. I know the 79XX has the DND in the menu but it is to cumbersome to go into the settings then phone preferences then the DND and select yes. Is there any other

* to Cisco router with FXO's via SIP
Ok, very frustrated after spending most of the day onthe * irc channel with little to no help. Mostly just a bunch of crap about being a newbie, going and reading voip-info.org. etc. Despite me doing all that already. My situation is not good but here it is. Hurricane came through, power spikes killed PBX. Just trying to replace it affordable and possibly with a few more features. I am using *

Cisco 7961 new firmware stops reading configuration files
Hello, I have been running SIP41.8-2-2SR4S firmware on the Cisco 7961 and have recently upgraded to SIP41.8-3-2SR1S to add the DND button on the front of the phone and also to hopefully resolve some issues with the phones not registering after a long period. Once we upgraded the phones now display "Error Verifying Config Info" in the Status messages and will not process the

Cisco SIP Gateway
Is anyone using a cisco router as an ISDN gateway with Asterisk? As you might have seen from a couple of my threads, I have been looking at Fritz! and Cologne cards, both of which require development against a specific version of asterisk/zaptel (e.g. chan_capi), which is intrusdive and causes a lag in deployment. I was thinking a better approach might be to use a seperate gateway, such as a Cisco

6.0 image for Cisco 7960's?
Has anyone managed to get their hands on a 6.0 image for their 7960's yet? Or is it still in beta? Rumor (official rumor, from Cisco) is that it supports paging and intercom. I'm anxious to start working with those features, if they've been implemented sanely. What would be just as nice would be NOTIFY messages for pushing XML URL's to the phones, but sadly that feature

Cisco 7914
I am looking into the possibility of buying a Cisco 7960 with a 7914 expansion module. I know a lot of people are using the 7960, but I haven't read much about the 7914 and I was wondering if anybody has used this module with Asterisk? -- Thank you for your time __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Cisco 7960 firmware upgrade promblems
I have a second-hand 7960 which I am attempting to upgrade to use a SIP image. The phone currently has a firmware release which doesn't seem to be listed in Cisco docs - P003AM30. On reboot, it finds the tftp server and requests the firmware image listed in OX79XX.txt correctly, displaying "Upgrading Software" on the screen. It then continues to re-request the same image from the

Cisco Call Manager & Asterisk for Voicemail
Has anybody successfully (or I guess unsuccessfully for that matter) implemented Cisco Call Manager and used an * box for voicemail? I checked the wiki and google and I see some references to Call Manager Express and *, but CME is completely different than CM. If anybody has done this or has any insight, it would be appeciated. We are trying to migrate ~ 300 users off of Cisco Unity and

Cisco 2610 as an MGCP gateway
I'm looking for config examples to use a Cisco 2610 with an FXO card as an MGCP gateway for my Asterisk server. I would like the cisco config along with the Asterisk MGCP config. This is a test environment and this is the only equipment I have at the moment. I do have the phones also. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Cisco 2620 as PRI gateway
I just inherited a Cisco 2621 with a VWIC-1MFT-T1 card in it. Can I make this thing into MGCP gateway or even a SIP gateway for asterisk? Seems like it should bee useful for something! I'm perfectly happy to do my homework, but also don't feel thee need to reinvent the wheel! So, links with relevant info would be appreciated. If there is a config for a 2621 being used as a gateway
