Hello, In reference to http://wiki.rettc.com/wiki.phtml?title=Wiki_Shorewall_FAQ ; Well, after a lot of emails I setup a wiki for shorewall, etc. It has proved to be completely useless. I have noticed one slight distro specific example added, a couple typo additions and fixes, otherwise, all contributions have been in excess (Tom...), or in malign. For my uses it has proven of little use as well. So, it is goin down soon, unless anyone has a good reason for it not to. I guess there is not much more to be said about a wiki for shorewall. Quite a scientific experiment! Alex Martin http://www.rettc.com

When it comes down to actually contributing, that always falls to a faithful few. I''m sorry I wasn''t of more help with it, but I had a slight accident about six months ago. I''m no longer what I was, and I''m not doing a good job of keeping up with projects. :-( -- Mike Noyes <mhnoyes at users.sourceforge.net> http://sourceforge.net/users/mhnoyes/ SF.net Projects: ffl, leaf, phpwebsite, phpwebsite-comm, sitedocs

And given your recent accident, I certainly understand that you haven''t been able to contribute to open source at your earlier feverish pace. I would appreciate it if you would point me to your script for producing PDF for the LEAF docs; I have nearly finished replacing tables with programlistings in the Shorewall docs and I''m interested in updating my build script to produce PDF in addition to html for 2.2. I plan on moving to XIncludes for modular documents. Then, use Saxon+Xerces for FOP/PassiveTeX PDF generation. <snip> After the experience with Alex''s Shorewall Wiki, I am not interested an ANY kind of Wiki.... -Tom </snip> Me neither. The main traffic to the shorewall wiki in its final days turns out to be from some very strange stuff. I have not bothered to figure out why I was getting such wierd traffic, nor will I, but it is due to some kind of abuse of the wiki system I was running I think. I mistakenly shut down the wiki through apache but not dns so my real website was given all of the wiki traffic. I just pointed wiki.rettc.com to 127.0.0.1, so this wierd traffic will stop, but for the curious, http://www.rettc.com/webalizer used to have as the top referrer google, now the top referers are wierd sources, it is anyones guess why the wiki attracted this wierd traffic. If you will note, my site has nothing to do with sketchy grey area interests (see referers), unlike the main traffic I was getting since I shut down the wiki. Wierd and scary. I am done with wiki''s too. Though, there are many useful wikis, my favorite is www.wikipedia.org. Alex Martin http://www.rettc.com
