dimnames in pkg "ipred"
Hello List, I`m trying to make prediction using a bagged tree with the package ipred. I tried to follow the manual but I`m getting an error message. Also browsing through the list-archive I didn`t find any hint. Maybe someone can help me? selbag <- bagging(SOIL_UNIT ~., data=traindat.bin, coob=TRUE) Error in dimnames(X) <- list(dn[[1L]], unlist(collabs, use.names = FALSE)) :

Snom hardware quality
Hi List. I've used 3x Snom 200 in a hotel environment for a year, all of them have failed at some point (1 went up in smoke, 1 handset failed, 1 display failed). I have 110 grandstream phones there of which only 3 have failed (whereof 2 due to brutal abuse), and in another company I have 75 Cisco 7940 (SCCP Firmware) phones where not a single one has failed (during 2 years). I have no complaints against Snom support or the reseller, returning them has not been a problem. However I am replacing these phones with new ones (they...

Spider Plot color problem
Hi all, I have encountered a problem which appears to have defeated my (admittedly nascent) R skills. I want to draw a spider plot with many cases (just over 300). I am primarily interested in the difference between 4 categories of cases, and want to display them as different colors. the col.stars parameter does not change the color of the lines (which I'm after), but fills the stars in

Wine and the serial port
I have an application that talks to hardware via the serial port. (Actually, it talks to a lot of hardware, banking peripherals). The app runs on both Win32 and OS/2. Of course, the main theme is porting the thing natively to linux (and I'm working on that). But just for fun I tried to get it to work with WINE, and while the "device emulation" works perfectly (much to my

How do I create an array to represent an empty record?
Here''s something that''s a snap to do in desktop database management systems (like Paradox or Access) but I haven''t figured out how to do it in RoR, and can''t seem to find any examples by googling, etc. My overall goal is to create a temporary space in which to create and process a single new record (representating a payment transaction), and when I''m

New list ?
Hi, Taking this to a new thread. Thoughts on getting a new list started up ? Should it be centos-sysadmin or centos-infra ? Are we going to then restrict it to admin/infra related chatter ? in which case, does the eyeball density on this list reduce for that sort of content ? How about the politics and news stuff that gets posted to this list. And how would those things be addressed with

Question about SS7
Hi, I have read about SS7 recently and learnt that it is a signalling protocol used in PSTN for call management, setup, etc. The thing that I don't understand is how SS7 plays a role in VOIP. When I make calls between landline and Asterisk via PSTN, I don't need to do anything with SS7. Is it because the SS7 signalling is already done by Asterisk already? From the prespective of
