Hello,
We would like more information on how to install
the Samba suite. We are using SCO OpenServer
Unix v 5.0 and want to interface with Windows NT
4.0 & Windows 98 clients.
Note : We have downloaded the entire package
from your site and tried to install it, but the first
step (configuring Samba) couldn't be carried out as
we could not locate the ".configure" file. The

...ace. if not, please accept my
apologies (where should this go?)
I have carried out experimental removal of bivalves at 2 intertidal shores.
Bivalves were removed by raking of surface sediments. I wish compare the
biomass values of for a total of 8 species between the 2 shores
My 3 treatments are: Undisturbed Controls (Cont), Procedural Controls (Proc)
and Experimetnally Fished (Fished).
As Fished and Proc have both experienced disturbance, I set the model using
2 factors as follows:
Controls Procedural Fished
Raked 0 1 1
Fished 0 0 1

xapian-core and Windows non-ASCII paths
...ue.
The idea of the patch is that a conversion to a Windows Unicode wide char
string is attempted prior to performing a relevant system call. If the
conversion succeeds, the wide version of the call is used, else, the
previous narrow call is used. This should ensure that existing
applications are undisturbed, and provides a way to tunnel a Unicode path
by using utf-8.
I am not claiming that the patch should be merged as is.
An obvious defect is that you may want to test for an ASCII path (in which
case the conversion succeeds but is wasteful). Also, location of the
conversion routine, style, etc. m...

Disabling select instructions
Hi,
I would like to know if there's a way to avoid select instructions during
the IR generation. What are the optimization passes that can result in a
select instruction?
i.e. I want to preserve branches in my code without disabling any other
optimizations applicable.
For example,
void foo(int* x, int* y){
if(*x > 0){
*y = *x + 10;
}
else{
*y = *x + 20;
}
}

OLS BoF? Mainline Virtualization API status?
Folks,
OLS is fast approaching. There is a session on virtualization
at the Kernel Summit, with Keir and Zach invited, which will
probably last an hour(?). There is also a Xen BoF currently
scheduled (Thursday, 7/20, 7:00PM) which will cover Xen specific
issues. And there are approximately 3 or 4 paper presentations
on related subjects. None of the above are going to allow for
adequate time to

Adding options to grub
...ooking into a centos8 and its grub.cfg
(/boot/efi/EFI/centos/grub.cfg in this case) looks rather different.
Is what I have described above still the safest way to customize the
kernel? Or is there a cleaner way to do the same while still leaving
me the option to go back to the grub menu and pick an undisturbed
kernel?

One way of enforcing such constraints (well, in finite computer
arithemtic only "<=" can be enforced) is to rewrite the parameters as:
pK1 = exp(theta1) ##

non-linear regression and root finding
Thanks a lot, Berwin. Unfortunately, pK1 may well be negative and as I
understand the literature it may be poorly defined as such, and also
seems to be at a boundary, since when lower is set to say rep(-4,3) pK1
is returned as -4 while pK2 and pK3 are undisturbed. Perhaps the point
is that pK1 is not carrying any information at the pH around 5. Fair
enough, I guess. Only, I believe I need stick to including all three pK
values to be in agreement with the molecular information about HEPES -
although even this is contentious. Be as it may, I wonder if n...

Thanks tony,
why are the idle channels restarted?, the PSTN could
think that my box has some problem. Perhaps, other
equipments also make the same but I don't know
anything about it. I used Access Server of Cisco and I
think that the channels weren't restarted.

Network shaper for gateway with massive p2p traffic
Hi,
I have made this script, that I use for controlling the bandwidth on
a gateway for about 100 computers. It is working quite effectively to
limit the use of p2p programs (and other programs), so that you can
surf undisturbed. Also, it improves internet access in general, so that
one large download doesn''t take up all your bandwidth.
I was wondering if someone would like to test it, and give me their
opinion about it. Maybe what I should improve.
The link is http://p2pshaper.sourceforge.net
cheers,
