Disturbance "noise" in the background for digium card
Hi All;
I installed one digium card of 2 fxo and 2 fxs, but
the following problems related to the voice are
happening:
1) Sometimes when I call to the PBX, I hear like modem
sound and after little it disapear.
2) There is a disturbance in the background (like the
channel radio disturbance that might happen if the
frequency was not captured well), and that disturbance
appear much more when Asterisk goes via IP Trunk.
Is it a configuration issue or it might be a digium
card defection so need to be replaced?
Any advise?

I have got two for-loops getting "disturbed" by an if-break-case (disturbed
means, that I don?t need the information for these cases).
By using /*a<-i+4*(k-1)*/ for storing results to my "result"data.frame, the
break-cases will be included as NA too.
*Are there a way to store my loop-results without the NA-cases to get a...

bristuff/zaphfc disturbing other ISDN phones
...tuff/zaphfc driver.
I also have TA attached to NT, with analog phones and modem on it.
When I'm dialling through Asterisk/bristuff, and in the same time TA
have some conversation (or maybe modem link) on channel 1, I can hear
that conversation (or modem) very short period (0.2sec), and I also
disturbing that conversation (modem).
On CLI is shown:

But this short "moving" call from busy channel 1 to free channel 2 is
enough to break my modem link which operating on channel 1.
Interesting, if I call exactly through chan...

Dummy variables model
...rywhere else. I have over 200 firms (and a factor variable that
contains a firm identifier).
Any easy way of going about this, without having to define all these
dummies? I checked lme() with random = ~ 1|firm, but the problem is that
these are random effects, i.e. that there are firm-by-firm disturbance
terms and overall disturbance terms, whereas I want just overall
disturbance terms. This is generally called a "fixed effects" model,
although it seems like the term "fixed effects" is being used somewhat
differently in the context of the nlme package.

clustering of disturbances
...properties that are owned by different firms, each
firm owning multiple properties. I am running a regression of holding
period (how long a property was held in a firm's portfolio) on the left,
and a bunch of factors on the right.
When calculating standard errors, I would like to cluster my disturbance
terms by firm. Any ideas on how to do this?
I'm guessing gls() from nlme, but what sorts of options?

Predator Prey Models
Dear R-users,
I am currently modifying a previously developed predator prey model and
was curious if there was a way to add in a disturbance to the model (let's
say at time t=100). The disturbance can be the introduction of 40 prey
(N=40) and 10 predators (Pred = 10). I would like to see my model go from a
state of equilibrium (up to t = 99), show this disturbance (at t = 100) and
then slowly work its way back to equilibrium....

Problem with 302 "Moved Temporarily" Do not disturb
I have some Cisco 7905 phones with the SIP load 1.02.00(040406A).
When the phone is off-hook but no call has been placed, or when the Do
Not Disturb is activated, the phone returns a 302 "Moved Temporarily"
message back to asterisk as follows:

Do Not Disturb?
I looked on the voip-info wiki and found sparse and conflicting information
on how to do this with Asterisk...
My incoming lines are all on Zaptel. Is there a simple why to implement a
'*363" (do not disturb) toggle via the dialplan?
It would be nice to be able to pick up an extension, dial *363, and have all
calls sent to voicemail without ringing the extensions. Doing it again would
disable the feature.

Strange and disturbing bug
...h a two-
part name including a dot (say y.pair), and if the variable with the
name of the first part (y) doesn't but I ask for it's value I get the
value of the two-part name. Ie set fred$x.pair and print the value of
fred$x it gives me the value I set to fred$x.pair. Weird and
somewhat disturbing!
Maybe an example makes it clearer:

Regression using mapply?
Hi,
I have huge matrices in which the response variable is in the first
column and the regressors are in the other columns. What I wanted to do
now is something like this:
#this is just to get an example-matrix
DataMatrix <- rep(1,1000);
Disturbance <- rnorm(900);
DataMatrix[101:1000] <- DataMatrix[101:1000]+Disturbance;
DataMatrix <- matrix(DataMatrix,ncol=10,nrow=100);
#estimate univariate linear model with each regressor-column, response
in the first column
for(i in 2:10){
result <- lm(DataMatrix[,1]~DataMatrix[,i])
}

Polycom 501 Do Not Disturb issue
Greetings all!
I bought some Polycom 501s and got them installed, configured and running.
I'm using bootrom 2.6.2 and sip 1.5.2. My problem is that when I press the
Do Not Disturb button, the phone stops responding and reboots by itself
eventually. Has anyone seen this problem before?

"need to know how to update [their] production box installation...sorry
I don't know Linux at all".

disturbed legend in ggplot2
Dear friends - below is a subset of a much larger material showing two
ways of generating two "lines". The intention is to have the colour
reflect a variable, pH, but the legend is disturbed. The little part
marked "3" above the colour scale is unwelcome. Why did it appear? How
could I avoid it?
