Cant create new VM: Error -> ERROR (XendDomainInfo:445) VM start failed
Hi everyone, i have a problem on a running xen installation. The server on which the following problem occurs manages 7 VMs at the moment. Now I wanted to create a new one. After sending the xm create command I get the following error: Using config file "/etc/xen/de-smartnet-asterisk". Error: Creating domain failed: name=de-smartnet-asterisk In my xend.log I can find the following entries: [2009-09-30 15:42:57 23165] DEBUG (XendDomainInfo:89) XendDomainInfo.create([''vm'', [''name'', ''de-smartnet-asterisk''], [...

SIP Firmware for Cisco Phones
Just a quick note to people looking for SIP firmware images for Cisco phones: To access these files from Cisco's website, you need to have a Service Contract (SmartNet) on at least on of your phones. I though a contract was several hundred dollars, but it is way cheaper! Their lowest level, 1 year Next Business Day 8x5 SmartNet program, costs around $70.00, and gives you unlimited access to the all SIP images (including the recently released v5.1). Thanks, M...

Cisco 7905/7912 SIP image location (on Cisco's site)
Hello all, I feel dumb asking this, but does anyone have a link to the SIP firmware for the 7912 on Cisco's site? I have a SmartNet contract, but I just can't find the link (you can search for "7960 sip firmware" and find that fast). Thanks for the help, Jeb Campbell jebc@c4solutions.net

[SPAM HEADER] - Re: Snom or Cisco Phones? - Email found in subject
I concur with Conrad. Cisco phones were retrofitted for SIP, whereas Snom phone are built around, and expressly for, the SIP standard. To be in compliance with Cisco regs, you are also supposed to have a SIP User license and a Smartnet contract for each phone if you abide by their program. I realize it is not difficult to obtain the SIP firmware, but if you were dealing with a Cisco authorized VAR, they are supposed to sell you the SIP User license and Smartnet, which allows you to obtain a CCO login and access Cisco firmware fi...

Cisco 7940G licensing with asterisk
Hi there, In Cisco web site http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_data_sheet09186a008008884a.html It says that regardless of the technology used you have to buy a licencse. Does the license apply to use the phone with asterisk, or, can i just buy the phone? Also, the phone does not requiere to use an AC adapter if used with PoE injectors/switches. Can non-Cisco PoE

Skinny
...ing specific material resources to make Skinny work with Asterisk, especially the binary firmware images. So, your on your own for the firmware. I recommend a CCM v3.1 or higher as Cisco was nice enough to give us an XML based config file. Someone needs to do some research to see if having a SmartNet on the phone would be sufficient enough to be able to LEGALLY use the Skinny firmware. And, yes I do have my 7910 working with Asterisk. Which, btw, was graciously donated by a generous Asterisk user (he knows who he is), ....Granted only with ulaw and none of the soft buttons actually do any...

Cisco 7920 Image
Does anyone know if there is a Smartnet contract or whatnot available from Cisco for access to the latest 7920 images? I've got one w/ asterisk that is exhibiting a few of the documented bugs running 1.0.3 (1.0.7 is the latest IIRC). Thanks! -- /* Ian A. Cisco 7940/7960 users
...the irregular timestamps. In searching the Cisco TAC problem list, it would appear the timestamp issue has not been reported. (A search based on "timestamp" turned up nothing, and a search on "rtp" found nothing relevant.) If someone that has experienced these problems has a SmartNet service agreement could open a TAC case, it would help all 7960 users. (Now I wish I had a SmartNet agreement!) Rich

Cisco 7960 SIP Upgrade
I couldn't figure it out on my own. I tried to purchase a Smartnet for the phone, but the original 7960 is not supported. Is it technically possible and if so, what would it cost me to have someone remote into my network and upgrade my SCCP 7960 to the latest SIP firmware? ---------- Mike Hammett Intelligent Computing Solutions http://www.ics-il.com ----------...

Asterisk SIP phones to Cisco Unity via CCM 4.0 SIP Trunk
...quantities I'm talking about, $100 is significant. Does anyone have any idea how to get this done? I've tried this: exten => 123,1,Dial(SIP/sipphone,20) exten => 123,2,Dial(SIP/ccm/3040) where 3040 is our VM pilot for ccm. but all it does is take us to the main greeting. we have smartnet, but they haven't been helpful at all I called digium to see if they could help if we paid, but they said they've never heard of cisco unity.... help? thanks. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Cisco 7960 SIP Images
.... Oh...what's that? None of these cheesy Stocked-at-Costco hardware companies have any VoIP phones worth a crap? Then deal with the fact that you are buying from a company who doesn't target home users, and deal with it. It costs Cisco more money than they make on the contract to offer SmartNet on a single device like this. You're lucky they don't have a minimum device limit/contract cost of something like 5 devices or $300/year. I'm guessing this type of policy would hardly effect more than several hundred of their customers, most of them with 7960's and similar. ----...

Cisco Support for 7940, Is this Right?
Hi all, Happy Wednesday! Got a 7940G off eBay to tinker with and, per the wiki, contacted Cisco about a service contract. Being just little ol' me, they won't deal directly and blew me off (I hate dealing with Cisco, Nortel, etc as a small-business person...) Again per the wiki, I hit CDW.com and found CON-SNT-CP7960 for $9.14. Looking for support for the 7940 (not 7960), I just

NEWS: SIP Firmware Available for Cisco 7970
I've just recieved a copy of the new SIP firmware for the Cisco 7970, those of you with Cisco accounts may wish to try it (shock horror I'm sticking with SCCP). This coincides with the release of v8 firmware for all Cisco phones (and for those of you running Sergio's chan_sccp v8 works fine) The firmware is now also (and for the 7970 SIP, only) distributed in ".cop" files,

Do I need a CH1 licence for Cisco Phones ?
I've got a question regarding Cisco IP Phones and licencing. When using a third party PBX like asterisk is a licence required for the Cisco phones ? Has anyone got anything in writing from Cisco to clarify this ? Eg can I just use CP-7961G or do I need CP-7961G-CH1 even though I'm not using Cisco Callmanager ? HYPERLINK
