SOS : Help needed for UPS Centralion Blazer 2000VA USB
...I've those information about the UPS :
Reseller link : http://www.alpha-power-technologie.com/images/GPi-usb.pdf
In his catalogue, the product is called Global Power GPi-2000BZ
This UPS has monitoring software called Winpower
2.0(http://www.ups-software-download.com/) which is developed by
Centralion.
My system is a Debian Sarge 3.1 with a 2.4.32 kernel and built-in HID USB
support. (this kernel was working perfectly well with the MGE-UPS HID UPS

Blazer_usb driver almost supports Centralion Titan Elite, but not quite
...E II" that comes with the infamous
Winpower software (as already discussed in this old thread
<http://nut-upsdev.alioth.debian.narkive.com/m0FWk43o/blazer-usb-compatibility-with-ippon-backpro-upses-phoenix-power-co-ltd-usb-to-serial-controller>).
This same UPS appears to be sold as "Centralion Titan Elite" and maybe
other names too.
My system runs Kubuntu 14.04 LTS, and I got some recent NUT version from this

Our last mails about the centralion Blazer 2000 USB let me thought that this
UPS may use Megatec protocol.
As Centralion engineer told me that the UPS just send serial output over USB
port, I wonder if it's possible to link newhidups driver with a sort of
megatec subdriver ???
I try hidups driver without success :

Driver for a REDi Blazer 600VA UPS
I'm running NUT 2.6.3 on Debian wheezy [ with a 3.3.0 i686 kernel ]
I've installed NUT via Debian APT [ package nut version 2.6.3-1 ]
I have a REDi Blazer 600VA (BLAZER600c) UPS and I want to detect
power failures.
I have tried the following drivers:
* gamatronic: Can't talk to UPS on port /dev/ttyS1!
* bestups: Unable to detect a Best/SOLA or Phoenix protocol UPS
* blazer_ser: No

And now, ho has time to code ?

Protection Systems, with most of the people that backed me and NUT for
years. Later in 2008, Eaton also acquired Phoenixtec, the mother firm
of Santak (#1 in China), Phoenixtec (ODM) and Centralion (OEM). The
latter is well known for its blazer and many other rebranded units
sold under as many names (check for megatec in docs/driver.list to get

After almost a year of discussions, the result is now that Eaton, the

Network UPS tool - drivers
...deed, we don't have support for Riello.
at least, none that I know.
I've no time nor motivation to try your above mentioned software, and
sniff the protocol.
but that would be the option to validate the protocol, and revere
engineering it.
I've once heard that they were only rebranding centralion units (which
can prove to be wrong, though!).
In such case, it would be interesting to try the blazer* and megatec* drivers.
if you do so, we would be interested in having some feedback.
cheers,
Arnaud

Mustek PowerMust 1000/1400/2000 USB (megatec, megatec_usb?)
Hi,
a few days ago, I bought some of those Mustek UPSes
that have both a serial and a USB connector.
Currently only the serial port is supported by
the megatec driver. This works fine so far.
Now I have seen there is a megatec_usb driver,
which currently only supports 2 other UPSes.
How can I help to find out whether the PowerMust
might actually work with the megatec_usb driver?

Opening the 2.4 commit fest
fellows,
You can now commit to the trunk everything that is scheduled for 2.4
For my part, the november month will be mostly dedicated to the following:
- commit the USB "improved maintenance" code. I'm about to finish that
one, which allows to extract USB info and generate the various USB
related files (hotplug, udev and hal). so the end of that bothering
era ^_^

Need help identifying UPS for use with NUT
Hi there.
I bought a generic UPS from a local (South African) hardware company,
Sahara. They call it an "Electra 1000 Plus". From what I am told it is a
1000 VA line interactive UPS. It comes with "WinPower" Java based software
that I couldn't get to work. (Crashes on start-up, without any explanation.)
I would like to know if any one on this mailing list could help me
