Repository / builds for Debian "buster"?
Speaking of repositories... Debian "buster" (future version 10) has for some time been "stage 1 frozen" (if I have the terminology right) and quite usable. Perhaps it's starting to make sense to make a repo / start producing builds? -- Kostya Vasilyev kman at fastmail.com

Repository / builds for Debian "buster"?
Support for Buster will be added once 10/buster is a stable release. We only provide builds for the current stable version, and the previous version, so Debian 8/jessie support will be dropped when this happens. But it is premature to do that now. michael > On March 31, 2019 at 6:04 AM Kostya Vasilyev...

Repo for Debian-Buster
Hi there, Any news about Debian Buster packages in Dovecot community repos? We would greatly appreciate! Soon going live with two rather big Dovecot servers and would prefer upgrading them to Buster before. I will definitely bow my head and look for some donation button! warning: NFS hangs with dovecot 2.3.8 on Debian buster
A warning to those considering to upgrade to Debian 10 (buster): we have seen occasional NFS hangs with dovecot when using the stock debian buster kernel (4.19.67-2+deb10u1). When we downgrade to the debian stretch kernel (4.9.189-3+deb9u1), the issue does not occur. Note that we *only* downgraded the kernel, the rest of the OS is still debian buster. Dovecot...

Plans for buster
Knorrie and I just discussed our plans for sid and buster, on the phone. Here's my notes of the discussion. Plan is to upload Knorrie's 4.11 packages to experimental, to make them more public, while we fix the bugs in them. There's a list of Salsa issues and the BTS bugs list. This duplication is not ideal. We agreed that new things shou...

Xen PVH support for grub-xen in Buster
...committed in grub master: https://www.mail-archive.com/grub-devel at gnu.org/msg28125.html The last pieces needed in the Linux kernel to boot PVH with grub2 landed in Linux 4.20. I asked our kernel team to carry those patches on top of the Linux 4.19 kernel that is going to ship in Buster, and that wish was granted: https://salsa.debian.org/kernel-team/linux/commit/4d63e6ccbbd6081068633b1147e0f77a59379795 Please see the commit message in there for an explanation why having the possibility to boot PVH+grub in Debian Buster out of the box would be great. So...

Possible critical Xen issue on Buster
...en devel team, I’ve never mailed a developer list before, but I’m worried I may have stumbled across a bad Xen/Debian packaging bug. My confidence is somewhere above “just mail -user” and below “open a bug in xen-system-amd64”. Apologies if this is the wrong usage of the list. I’ve updated to Buster, and my Xen kernel no longer boots. I believe it’s because Xen only offers versions 4.11 and 4.8, while Debian’s kernel images only offer 4.19 and 4.9. I’ve tried various matches between linux image and Xen version, and none of them will make it past loading initrd. (Booting non-Xen works fine) I’...

Patch needed for debian buster in version 2.2.36.1
Hi all; I've just compiled version 2.2.36.1 on a new debian buster (debian 10) and it seems that this patch https://github.com/dovecot/core/commit/ 63a74b9e8e0604486a15a879e7f1a27257322400.patch is needed to make it work. Without the patch, the authentication segfaults. *Simone Lazzaris* *Qcom S.p.A.* simone.lazzaris at qcom.it[1] |...
