[3.0.2] booster + unfsd failed
Hi list. I have been testing with glusterfs-3.0.2. glusterfs mount works well. unfsd on glusterfs mount point works well too. When using booster, unfsd realpath check failed. But ls util works well. I tried 3.0.0-git head source build but result was same. My System is Ubuntu 9.10 and using unfsd source from official gluster download site. Any comment appreciated!! - kpkim root at ccc1:~/gluster/unfs3-0.9.23booster0.5# LD_PRELOAD=/usr/l...

OT: Cellular boosters
...alplan. It works great except where coverage is poor then of course the inbound call hits voicemail. This has nothing to do with Asterisk and everything to do with our cellular provider, but since you guys are telephony pros I'd like to ask if anyone has had any good or bad experience with gain boosters for cells from those snake oil stick on things all the way up to powered one-watt boosters. Ideally, I'd like a situation where I replace the stock OEM antenna with something else for $10 and away I go. I have a hundred guys with v551s that are pissed about missed calls, so any and all suggest...

Developement speex; harmonic booster
An idea would be like for WMA 9 lower bitrates (32-42-48Kbps) to use a 'crystallizer'; which is basically a harmonics booster focussed at transposing sharp tones some octaves higher. Eg: A file has been recorded @ 20khz computer (or 10khz real life) to preserve space. While playing back the file sounds a bit mushy, almost as if someone was speaking through a cardboard wall. The higher frequencies are missing, and you c...

Another draggable/droppable performance booster
This one is as much for Thomas as for the rest of the list (might be a good one for the official build)... I made a change to the dragdrop.js file that significantly improves overall performance of dragging when there are more than one (or many more) droppables on the page. I modified the Draggables.updateDrag method, and added another method below it, and then in Draggable.updateDrag I

about ulimit -n 1M
Hi, I noticed that the glusterfs client tries to set ulimit -n to 1M. When I run booster with non-privileged user, the following line appears several times in the log file: [2009-09-14 09:15:22] W [client-protocol.c:6010:init] brick-0-0-0: WARNING: Failed to set 'ulimit -n 1M': Operation not permitted When I run it with root, there's no such complaint even though /proc...

PMB.exe Error when Installing League of Legends
I'm using the terminal commands from http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=19141 The LeagueofLegends.exe starts fine, but when it gets to the part where it starts Pando Media Booster, I get a Program Error saying "The program PMB.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Under that it says: "This can be caused by a problem in the program of a deficiency in Wine". I checked the Application Database to res...

Automatic Differentiation for R
...e applications filled in etc. Can the R community come up with a few people who can provide the AD workers with appropriate information? If so, is there a reasonable chance to generate sufficient funding for a student? I suspect the answer in both cases is yes, but that we need some form of "booster cables" to get things going. (In Canada, booster cables are used to get cars started in winter by connecting a running vehicle's battery to that of a dead one.) I suggest communications off-list until there is progress to report. Possibly there is a better forum for this -- suggestions...

Boosting, bagging and bumping. Questions about R tools and predictions.
...image. This results in a classified image that can then be checked for accuracy. Classification trees are increasingly used by the remote sensing folks but it seems like finding optimal trees is an active area of research in computational statistics. I've seen great claims made by baggers and boosters (and just what is bumping?) of increasing classification accuracy but aside from TreeNet by Salford Systems I'm not aware of tools that can grow forests of trees that can then be used to make predictions. Can anybody help? Promote security and make money with the Hushmail Affiliate...

Question about changes to 'SelectionDAGISel.h'
Thanks Ahmed and also Alex for your replies. This is more or less what I was realising, but it is a great confidence booster to know that it is the correct way also. I can replace all of my various 'Select*' specialisations with version that use 'ReplaceNode/SelectCode' and return 'void', but what about the places where I currently call 'Select(N)' directly? Should I substitute 'Sele...

Rails on Oracle tutorial... from Oracle!
...cation needs. For example, Rails assumes that all tables use a single, non-compound, primary key. Compound primary keys are not supported! In addition, Rails does not support two-phase commit; it''s designed to be used against a single database backend. This article is not intended to be a booster piece for Rails nor is it an expose. It''s simply an introduction to the technology. It contains both praise and criticism. At times the criticism might appear a bit heavy handed (especially to Rails enthusiasts), but don''t be fooled. Using any Web application framework is going to...

gluster and system options for logging
Hi all, I'm currently in the process of testing a Gluster 3.0.0 setup (4 nodes, 2 servers, 2 clients, client-side replication), and have run into the occasional hiccup (and at least one big crash). Unfortunately, the logged remnants of these incidents leave something to be desired, and as anyone who's tried to track down a crash knows, the more log data you have, the better. Thus,
