Cisco 7961G
All, I am having a lot of trouble with the Cisco 7961G phones. I have managed to get them up and running with Asterisk to the point where I can get incoming calls and make outgoing calls. The problem is when I make outgoing calls or extension to extension calls, the calls die after 20 seconds. I have google'd around and came up with little that...

Cisco 7961G + 7914 Expansion Module
All, Since I have now (at least partially) got my 7961G phones working with Asterisk, I have temporarily moved on to try to get the expansion modules working. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of documentation here either. Does anyone have this combination working (or any 79X1) here? My goal is ultimately to do the monitoring approach....

Cisco 7961 - can't place calls
Hello, I have been working on getting a Cisco 7961G to place calls on my * server for a while now with no luck. I can receive calls just fine but I get a fast busy when I try to place calls. I have googled and been to many different sites but the solution has not been found. Anyone out there had a similar issue and found the fix? Asterisk server...

Do I need a CH1 licence for Cisco Phones ?
I've got a question regarding Cisco IP Phones and licencing. When using a third party PBX like asterisk is a licence required for the Cisco phones ? Has anyone got anything in writing from Cisco to clarify this ? Eg can I just use CP-7961G or do I need CP-7961G-CH1 even though I'm not using Cisco Callmanager ? HYPERLINK "http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Exposing+the+Cisco+Call+Manager+License+ Scam"http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Exposing+the+Cisco+Call+Manager+Lice nse+Scam says no licence required. CallerID issues
...ll, I have run into some CallerID issues. It seems to have happened as a result of just moving my config from 1.2.12 to 1.4.4 (although I am not sure of this). Therefore I am sure its just a misconfiguration somewhere, I just don't know where. I have throughout the office either Cisco 7961G or Polycomm Soundpoint SIP 430 IP phones. The problem is with CallerID showing up in some places, but not in others. For instance, in the CDR, if a call comes in as unavailable but still displays the number, the phone will only show "Unavailable" and then display the phone's exte...

Low RX volume and half duplex/"walkie-talkie" on AEX-804E
...'s a Digium issue in the first place (but I don't know where else to point fingers). We have an AEX-804E (PCI Express, 4 FXO ports, Hardware Echo Cancellation) in a Dell PowerEdge 1950 with four straight analog telephone lines, and running asterisk 1.4.22. All of the local phones are Cisco 7961G with the SIP firmware. Calls between SIP sets, across our SIP trunk on a VPN to a remote office, or calls to or from the remote office's PSTN lines (over the aforementioned SIP trunk) are all fine. On many [but not all] calls to or from the PSTN, I'm getting two complaints - #1 is low rece...

SIP Presence across two servers
...n running Asterisk for years in our offices but just recently replaced an Asterisk Appliance* in our smaller office with an actual server, upgraded the server in hardware in our HQ location and upgrading both ends to 11.5.0 with Gareth's patch for Cisco phones. 99.99% of our endpoints are Cisco 7961Gs. Each office is more-or-less standalone for ease of management and fault tolerance but we have a unified dialplan and SIP "trunking" from site to site via our VPN. Everything presence related works wonderfully for local users, but I'm hoping there's a way we could get presence...

Dropped Calls / Maximum Retries Exceeded / No Reply to Our Critical Packet
...#39;ve looked through the archives and tried several variations in Google, and I haven't found anything on-point... So I'm hoping someone here may be able to help this relative Asterisk neophyte shed some light on an issue: I have a box running Asterisk 1.4.22 in our lab with several Cisco 7961G phones and an AEX804E card (4 FXO, hardware echo cancellation). The server and all phones are on the same subnet (10.2.0.x/255.255.255.0) of the local LAN with no NAT, routing, firewall, etc., etc. between the server and the phones. Periodically I'm seeing calls placed from the 7961s through...

Cisco 7941G-GE with Asterisk and CTPSEP odyssee
...ng over this CTLSEP step should bring the phone to load the SIP41XXX.loads file, I assume. But as I am not getting over this step it stays in the term41.default.loads step, unfortunately. Does that ring a bell to anyone? Does anyone of you have had the same situation? In which state did you get the 7961G? SCCP? And how did you manage to load SIP firmware onto it? Christophorus > I do have to answer to your suggestion of renaming the CTLSEP<mac>.tlv > to SEP<mac>. The phone is still requesting CTLSEP<mac>.tlv and as it > cannot find that it goes into a loop. Call quality issue across VPN-> POTS vs SIP
Hi All, Got a strange (at least IMHO) issue that doesn't make much sense to me. Basic configuration is two sites with a site-to-site (aka router-to-router) VPN. Both sites have Cisco 7961G phones [with SIP firmware] on users' desks, and the only VoIP is internal - all of our outward telecom is on POTS or Centrex-enabled POTS lines. Site 1 has a Dell PowerEdge 1950 with Asterisk built from source and an AEX804E to connect to the outside world. Site 2 has an Asterisk Appliance wit...

Ring Two Extensions Simultaneously with different caller ID values?
Hi All, We're using Asterisk 1.4, and Cisco phones exclusively (mostly the 7961G, but a few 7911Gs and one 7912G for the time being-all running the SIP firmware image, plus a few analog extensions until the next capital funding cycle). Each user has a phone at his or her desk, but there are also a growing number of "common area" phones (hallway, kitchen, conference r...

Cisco 7941G-GE with Asterisk and CTPSEP odyssee
Hi list, I have bought some Cisco 7941G-GE IP phones and want to use them with asterisk. Before bying I tested the whole setup with three different models of the old 79X0 series (a 7912, 7940 and a 7960). Flashing the formerly provided SCCP-Image to SIP was no problem, but now it complains about a nonexistent CTLSEP<mac>.tlv file. Most of the howtos say something about an empty file but

Cisco 7961 new firmware stops reading configuration files
Hello, I have been running SIP41.8-2-2SR4S firmware on the Cisco 7961 and have recently upgraded to SIP41.8-3-2SR1S to add the DND button on the front of the phone and also to hopefully resolve some issues with the phones not registering after a long period. Once we upgraded the phones now display "Error Verifying Config Info" in the Status messages and will not process the

We're running Asterisk 1.4.22 built from source and Cisco 7961G phones with the SIP firmware image. I've tried most of the recent firmware versions for the phones with no real impact on the issue. Converting Cisco 7961 to SIP
As part of a project to move a clients Cisco phones to SIP to work with an Avaya system, I'm taking a Cisco 7961 we bought and adding it to our Asterisk setup. Now, I've gotten the firmware files from the site, the latest version is 8.4 which contains the following files: apps41.8-4-3-16.sbn cnu41.8-4-3-16.sbn cvm41sip.8-4-3-16.sbn dsp41.8-4-3-16.sbn jar41sip.8-4-3-16.sbn

Call Dropped in Voicemail / No Reply to Our Critical Packet w/ SIP Debug
...27458]: chan_sip.c:1980 retrans_pkt: Hanging up call 001d45b6-1d490088-46ef7ed6-adbeb875 at 10.2.0.203 - no reply to our critical packet (see doc/sip-retransmit.txt).". I thought the issue had cleared itself up, but it has resurfaced. We're running 1.4.22 on built from source, using Cisco 7961G phones with the SIP firmware image (and I've tried most of the recent firmware versions for the Cisco phones to see if that would change things at all). I would appreciate any assistance since I'm stumped. The output of SIP DEBUG for the extension most frequently affected by the issue is b...
