You quit Samba very noisily. If you don't remember doing so, just look at the subject line. Don't look back. Go to your beloved Windows CIFS. You've found somebody better: Move on and don't keep pestering your ex. To everyone else: Around the turn of the century Samba had a web-app (CGI probably) to configure smb.conf. Is something like that still in existence? SteveT Steve Litt September 2016 featured book: Twenty Eight Tales of Troubleshooting http://www.troubleshooters.com/28

I think there was a web app called SWAT. The problem I have with the samba web app or gui config tools (I think redhat had one) is that they might delete any fine tuning you set in smb.conf. If you are looking for web gui to control Samba you might try Webmin: http://www.webmin.com/index.html It does pretty decent job in managing the processes and config files as well as just about every other service running on your Linux/Solaris machines On 9/28/16 2:18 PM, Gaiseric Vandal via samba wrote:> I think there was a web app called SWAT.
