Internal RAID controllers question
Dear Experts, one of the RAID threads today prompted me ask everybody. Which internal hardware RAID controllers will survive some future to come in your estimate. First of all my beloved 3ware finally seems to have passed away. After multiple acquisitions and becoming part of LSI and getting bought with LSI, it probably became non operational. Namely, the latest 3ware cards have ancient firmware. Neither of them supports 4kn drives. This speaks for itself for me. [Under new ownersh...

Newbie Polycom: Where is SoundPointIPWelcome.wav used?
When I downloaded the sip and bootrom from Polycom website, I noticed a file called SoundPointIPWelcome.wav. However, I have no idea where and when it was used. I played the wav file but I have never heard the phone using this wav file before. Does anyone know what it is used for?

Friendly Reminder (OT)
Today, I had a tragic hard drive crash. I hadn''t updated anything to SVN in two weeks. I''m posting this here as a reminder to my beloved Rails community. Everyone, right now..... make a backup of your rails work. Make sure its on two disks. Many of you already do that automatically, but just make sure its working. Two near-release rails plugins were lost in the tragic crash along with the two weeks of work on several other project...

Question about virt-manager Version 9.1
hello list, I switched to version 9 (not redhat) on my "new" server, and that worked. But after updating to 9.1, the virt-manger doesn't work anymore? There are only more error messages when opening the 2nd window for the settings. I hope someone on this list can help? It's a beloved tool which for me is the easiest way to create a KVM machine. thanks for any help, -- mit freundlichen Gr??en / best Regards, G?nther J. Niederwimmer

RPM package wish list

I know about 3rd party repos like rpmforge, epel, and kbextras. I can search those in YUM. Centos seems to have specialized as a server OS in...

ACL - only for domain groups
Hello Samba's Users, Amazing thing I see, when I look into a permission tab on XP machine. No matter of which user I use to create new file, I always receive permission for: Domain Admins, Domain Users, All/Others. There is no entry for that user. I can add him manually, but I' ve thought that proper behaviour should give me as a result: User, His group, All/Others. Moreover I am not able
