I think they all point to same password file based on your smb.conf settings.
Correct me if I'm wrong but you can change a password with pbedit or
smbpasswd.
pbedit has many more options than smbpasswd.

I think samba will create the password file of it doesn't exists based
on your smb.conf

I think there is no password. Just hit enter when promted for password.
