Hello, I've been trying to join w2k3 machine to samba 3 domain for a last few hours. This is strange but all I get from joining process is: The Specified User Already Exists. More than 100 machines running XP are already added to the same domain as well as Linux machines. The only problem I've got is 2003 server. This w2k3 server is quite pure however it wasn't me who has installed it. I did check if AD is running on this server and it's not. I CAN't change server name for this w2k3. When I try to join the server to samba I put "me" as the administrator. Looking at samba log for that server I discovered that at the beginning my credentials are used but after a while "Administrator" login appeared with: [2008/01/20 19:56:05, 4] passdb/pdb_ldap.c:ldapsam_getsampwnam(1396) ldapsam_getsampwnam: Unable to locate user [Administrator] count=0 [2008/01/20 19:56:05, 3] smbd/sec_ctx.c:pop_sec_ctx(339) pop_sec_ctx (0, 0) - sec_ctx_stack_ndx = 1 [2008/01/20 19:56:05, 3] auth/auth_sam.c:check_sam_security(281) check_sam_security: Couldn't find user 'Administrator' in passdb. [2008/01/20 19:56:05, 3] auth/auth_winbind.c:check_winbind_security(80) check_winbind_security: Not using winbind, requested domain [DOM1] was for this SAM. [2008/01/20 19:56:05, 2] auth/auth.c:check_ntlm_password(319) check_ntlm_password: Authentication for user [Administrator] -> [Administrator] FAILED with error NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER [2008/01/20 19:56:05, 3] smbd/sec_ctx.c:pop_sec_ctx(339) pop_sec_ctx (1001, 513) - sec_ctx_stack_ndx = 0 If needed I can provide smb.conf as well as full log file from samba server. But maybe this problem is quite old and well know... Best regards, Marcin
