I will try using the idmap backend. Does using winbind the way that I have it setup still work in this version? For instance, in my experience: You either use de the idmap backend or the idmap gid and uid and the winbind enum groups and users, due the fact that you are running the latest version of samba I recommend to use the idmap backend one.
