samba - Sep 2007 - Cannot delete users from samba

Hi mates,

How can I delete a user from samba (smbpasswd) if the user her/himself is
no longer in unix?

# smbpasswd -x abcdefgh
Failed to initialise SAM_ACCOUNT for user abcdefgh.
Does this user exist in the UNIX password database ?
Failed to modify password entry for user abcdefgh

Any idea?

Which type of password db do you use:
        .../samba/private/smbpasswd
        .../samba/private/passdb.tdb
        LDAP

For smbpasswd stopping Samba and deleting the line manually works well.
