samba - Dec 2005 - You do not have sufficient access to your computer to connect to the selected printer

I received this message when trying to connect and install a new printer 
driver for a new printer on a Samba server under Windows XP:

"You do not have sufficient access to your computer to connect to the 
selected printer"
