samba - Nov 2005 - Deleting a file in Windows

I can't delete a file in Windows even though Samba is logged in as a UNIX
user with that file's directory group, and all the permissions are okay for
this directory.  Strangely, if I change the group to "group" on the
file's
directory I can then delete the file?

writeable = yes 
or 
read only = no
