samba - Nov 2004 - samba backup domain controller

Hey all

I need some help with samba in a samba enviroment as a backup domain 
controller. There seems to be a lack of good documentation.

I would prefer a pure samba envioment using the samba password file and 
rsync, this is the most basic setup but there is no documentation. If not 
possible I would use ldap as the backend, but once again there is limited 
documentation.

Any help wuld be apprectiated.

Then perhaps you aren't looking in the right place.  Try going to 
www.samba.org and hit any of the links under "Learn Samba" on the left
side, the first two in particular.  That should be enough doc for most 
systems, and if you run into problems with one of those setups post back 
with a detailed description of the problem

For multiple (server) systems, some sort of network authentication is 
wise, and LDAP is the recent auth of choice for the unix/linux minded so 
I would suggest that.
