can Dtrace be used for the error injection?
Hi, is it somehow possible to use Dtrace for error injection in a kernel module? Something like changing: - function return value - value of a register If not, can it be implemented? I can do that via kmdb, but I need Dtrace for the time synchronization - chill() action. I can not combine Dtrace & kmdb: dtrace: failed to initialize dtrace: DTrace cannot be used when kernel debugger

SIP Intercom & Paging (was Overhead Paging)
...gium.com Subject: RE: [Asterisk-Users] Overhead Paging I'd hate to see conference bridging use for paging. A lot of wasted CPU and bandwidth. Could you "multicast" the UDP packets? We assume you don't need to page across multiple Asterisk servers but if you did the software wuld need to be smart enough to "know" which groups of extensions could be in a multicast and whci need to be bridged. Basically check to see if the SIP phone are on the same subnet. --- DUSTIN WILDES <dwildes@pabbankshares.com> wrote: > I feel this needs to be a separate applicati...

Questions about a working Samba PDC
Is there anyway to have roaming profiles OFF by default? If I add a user to a machine, I always have to go and set them to a local profile. Is there anyway to do groups? When sharing files or printers, I would rather add a group than each individual user. I have one Windows XP Pro client and when I do sharing permissions it comes up with this search interface and it can't find any of the

samba backup domain controller
...r. There seems to be a lack of good documentation. I would prefer a pure samba envioment using the samba password file and rsync, this is the most basic setup but there is no documentation. If not possible I would use ldap as the backend, but once again there is limited documentation. Any help wuld be apprectiated. Email me @ adrian_au1@hotmail.com Thanks for your input. Adrian Sender

Newbie question - sip.conf incoming contexts
...rk. The register lines work great but I have not been able to figure out how to get the other two lines to come into another seperate inbound context that I have defined other than the one that is specified in the [general] section of sip.conf The /extension number does not do the trick for me I wuld like for these incoming lines (from the same itsp) to truly land in one of 3 seperate starting contexts in my dialplan based on what phone number (account) they are. Thank you very much for your help... this must be simple but I have not really figured it out in several months of playing around an...

after hours logic
Hi. I'm new to Asterisk and have been working on setting up a development server but have gotten myself a bit confused. I'd like to implement the following logic for calls coming from the PSTN: Check for caller-id yes => keep going no => play SIT and prompt for telephone number Check time of day to see if it's day / night day => ring some phones
