samba - Dec 2003 - Is it possible not to have ou=Computers?

Hi,

I seem to remember somewhere that Samba 3 can be configured so that you
do not need real users for computers, that these users only exists in
some tdb database.

How is this possible?

Can someone describe how to do this?

In Samba 3.0, you can have a 'ldap machine suffix' but
you still have to have a UNIX identify for that machine.
So you nss_ldap ldap.conf would still have to search the
'ldap machine suffix' (and the 'ldap user suffix') for
posixAccount entries.
