Hi, I seem to remember somewhere that Samba 3 can be configured so that you do not need real users for computers, that these users only exists in some tdb database. How is this possible? Can someone describe how to do this? Many thanks, Tarjei Huse

In Samba 3.0, you can have a 'ldap machine suffix' but you still have to have a UNIX identify for that machine. So you nss_ldap ldap.conf would still have to search the 'ldap machine suffix' (and the 'ldap user suffix') for posixAccount entries. cheers, jerry ~ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ Hewlett-Packard ------------------------- http://www.hp.com ~ SAMBA Team ---------------------- http://www.samba.org ~ GnuPG Key ---- http://www.plainjoe.org/gpg_public.asc ~ "If we're adding to the noise, turn off this song" --Switchfoot (2003) -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQE/3GrwIR7qMdg1EfYRAt6iAJ0fdXYwZBx0UbJe1OcTNDDwdMBWtQCg3M3j JDePo1VkM/e7Dkgau6raTYo=efty -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
