i think you have to ensure if your nmbd is running, you can do this with:
ps -aux
and you have to see some line with
nmbd -D
after this (if it is running), you have to change
os level = 20
or some lower value , if you network already have a WINS or Master browser..
i think you have to set your "Workgroup" Parameter to the same name of
your
W2k Workgroup or domain..
try this.. and i don?t think you have to remove "logon path", or
"map to
guest" parameters; it looks good for me..
i hope this help you.. and if not,, still around, this problem have a
solution

Asunto: [Samba] win/linux connect problem
hi..
I have samba 2.2.1a on Mandrake 8.1, 2.4.17. My problem is a user from
remote Win2k workstation can't see my shares when he wants to access my PC
using my hostname. When accessing using my ip address, it works.. The
error message in W2K is 'This user is not authorized to log in from this
station' - or something like that..
Here's a part of my config. The same (or almost the same) config works on
another linux, so I'm desperate with this one..
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Michael
