samba - Jul 2002 - Problem with the norwegian cahrs ø:Ø

I'm having trouble getting samba to accept the ?:? as valid chars.
What I don't quite understand is why it accept all other chars except ?:?,
I can use all the other Scandinavian signs, ?:? ?:? ?:? ?:?.
