I had the same problem for a long time and the Howto and man pages didn't
help me either.
I even tried to look through Mb of loglevel 10 logs without finding a single
error :(
But then with the help of google I found the solution in the samba archives.
And it worked! :-)

You have to add the parameter "use spnego = no" to the smb.conf . At
least
that helped
in my case.
Is it possible, that a short notice is added to the HowTo or somewhere else?
That would
perhaps help other people who have the same problem.
