Does net rpc join work in SAMBA (using HEAD from CVS compiled this morning) Configured with ACL, with PAM, and with WINBIND. It seems that I cannot rejoin my domain (PDC is NT4sp6a) after I turfed machine.sid and secrets.tdb. I tried using smbpasswd first and was informed to use net join rpc instead. Logs available if needed. Thanx Hans

I only added that yesterday :-) You will need to remove the computer from the domain (using server manager or equiv) before you can re-join. The code is meant to be able to just reset the password, but I havn't got that working again. I'm due to add 'net rpc leave' today, as well as finishing the cull of the -j option to smbpasswd. hello, i assume, if samba 3.0 alpha can join a ad, then i think the ldap code is working in samba 3.0? so is it possible to use samba 3.0 to authenticate against a openldap server? best regards -- Raimund Sacherer Linux Solution Provider email: Raimund.Sacherer@ngit.at

hi, there is no new alpha or beta samba version since november. there is a more ofter stable realse then alpha or beta. there will be a beta or alpha in the near future? or we should use the cvs directly? it's more problematic then an alpha or beta relase. I'd like to use openldap, postfix and sambe togetter so I'd like to try the latest version. should I have to choose alpha21? -- Levente http://petition.eurolinux.org/index_html "The only thing worse than not knowing the truth is ruining the bliss of ignorance."
