I've poured through the FAQ and HowTo for setting up my Linux 7.0 system to act as a PDC for my Windows 2000 SP1 clients; however, I continue to get the "Cannot join domain, the credentials supplied conflict with an existing set.." error. Yep, I followed the FAQ for this error, followed it and I still get this error. I'm logging onto the Win2K system as administrator and when I try to join the domain and get prompted for a username/password combo, I use root (which was added to smbpasswd). Also, my system was given an account as well - with the ending $. Any ideas? Thanks, Michael BTW - 2.2 is KICK ASS! -------------- next part -------------- HTML attachment scrubbed and removed

HI All, I have tried Samba2.2.0 to setup a PDC for my network. I have setup and create all the machines accounts and user accounts. when I join the domain from NT4WS, it shows up a Error Dialog "Unable to connect to the domain controller for this domain. Have your administrator check your computer account on the domain.". then I check the log file I found that there is an errror. session_trust_account: Trust Account MACHINES1$ - password failed since the machines account should not have password. but it tells me that I need a password for the machines account. Can anyone help me to solve this problem ? Regards, Hilary
We need LOG FILE ENTRIES. Preferably at a relitivly high level (but only of the relevent stuff - dont spam the list with the whole thing).
