okey doke. I have read the faq, I have browsed the samba web sites, and I did go through diagnose.txt and the other documentation but still... none of the win95 boxes on my network can see my samba server in the network neighborhood. usage of "net use x: \\server\share" seem to work fine on the client machines though as well as everything else in the diagnose.txt document. Could somebody please help inform me as to what I messed up? I tried samba several months ago and also couldn't get browsing working after several days of trying and finally had to give up on samba for the time being. Thanks for your expertise, - Jeff This is my /etc/smb.conf file (for testing, can't get much simpler than this as suggested by the INSTALL.txt file)... [homes] guest ok = no read only = no other mor complicated smb.conf files also produce the same, erroneous, behavior with browsing. and this (sorry for the length) is a barf of 'testparm /etc/smb.conf'...
