I won't say never. It will probably be quite a while, if
ever before rsync supports HFS. If it is done it will be
done by way of supporting extended attributes according to
SUS and will not be HFS specific.
What i find curious is that i cannot recall the rsyncx
developers contacting us. Perhaps they did so before i got
involved; or their approach was something we didn't want to
do in mainline rsync and i have simply forgotten about it.
I have just downloaded their source tarball and will look at
it when i get a chance but don't expect anything to come of
it. Most likely the way they have done it is something we
don't want in mainline and their code is decidedly
out-of-date being against 2.5.5.
