In this position, you will work as a key member of the Engineering team to design, build and test a groundbreaking product for a premier global communication company. Why work with us? * Modern application stack (Rails 3.x, Backbone) * Small, agile team * View of the Manhattan skyline You will be a core contributor Ruby on Rails / JavaScript Developer of an SOA / Web Services platform that integrates with internal and 3rd party systems. Responsibilities also include: participate in architecture planning and review meetings with the VP of Technology and Senior Software Tech Lead; participate in technical discussions and implementation meetings with the in-house team of architects, and engineers and project managers; create and document APIs for 3rd party developers; and provide technical support to 3rd party developers integrating with the company platform. The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise): * 3+ years of developing and coding front-end and middle-tier of Web applications in Rails, Rspec, Cucumber * Excellent coding and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) skills * Demonstrated coding experience with Ruby on Rails and JavaScript using TDD * Front-end Web application development knowledge: CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and frameworks such as Backbone.js * Proficiency in working with Web service based APIs, including Soap, REST * Working knowledge integrating SQL based database calls into middleware and front-end modules and scripts * Familiarity working in Lean / Agile development processes, * Understanding of and demonstrated experience in the full software development lifecycle including functional and technical specifications, implementation, QA, deployment, and maintenance This is an exciting opportunity to work with the most cutting edge innovative proprietary technology available!
