New package 'backbone' for extracting significant edges from a weighted graph
Hello R users, I am excited to introduce a new package for R which is now available on CRAN called ?backbone?. The package can be found here: https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/backbone/index.html The backbone package provides methods for extracting from a weighted graph a binary or signed backbone that retains only the significant edges. The user may input a weighted graph, or a bipartite graph fr...

[RFC] [PATCH] Mode=Switch: add per-VLAN forwarding database
Hi, I'm inter-connecting AccessPoints using a tinc mesh and have bridge-nodes to bridge this vpn into some existing backbone. The AccessPoints bridge their users into 802.1q VLANs (per WiFi-Client, there can be multiple VLANs active on each AP) in the tinc mesh, and the bridge nodes bridge some vlans into the backbone. Now there is a router in the backbone that uses the same MAC on all VLANs, thus its MAC appears on all...

VoIP Providers and Backbone Servers
Hello All, Well, my explorations in to the world of VoIP is proving fruitful and in the near future I am hoping to have my small VoIP online service up and running ready to help promote the industry and hopefully gain a few customers in the process. OT: VoIP over bonded link
I have to provision several dozen * users to a seperate building on our campus in the same subnet. Ordinarily, I'd just run a gigabit cat6 cable to another switch if it doesn't violate the 100 metre rule, but this building is several hundred metres away from my backbone. My only option for cabling to the remote building is copper. My plan is to provision them with a Linux bridge with 4 NIC's: 1 gigabit to the backbone, and three bonded together as a single interface (90 mbit aggregate), then plugged into this dealie: http://www.blackbox.com/Catalog/Detail.as...

Class C network 223.255.255.x
Hi, Most networks are using either 10.x.x.x or 172.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x , but was curious If I can use the range 223.255.255.x for my backbone routing, this looks like a nice block to use as most ppl don''t use this, specially if you build quite a big intranet what about the whole 223.x.x.x block, will this be used on the internet? sorry if its a stupid questions Thanks Sew _______________________________________________ LA...

Winbind trouble when on the DC

On domain member - tor:~ # /usr/bin/ntlm_auth --username=adam --domain=BACKBONE --password=******** NT_STATUS_OK: Success (0x0) On domain controller - littleboy:~ # /usr/bin/ntlm_auth --username=adam --domain=BACKBONE --password=********** Reading winbind reply failed! Newbie here. Tips on setting up 100 phones w anted.
...in >about 4 miles of each other. Perhaps a more pressing question might be how you are going to backhaul Ethernet in a 4-mile radius. You can't run a Cat 5 cable more than 100 metres reliably, and using Ethernet repeaters every hundred metres or so isn't practical. You will need a fiber backbone or something like that. What is your plan to create an Ethernet network to tie these locations together?

Does Samba need to see the world?
Our ISP experienced backbone problems yesterday. Our backbone provider's backbone provider (EMBRATEL, the newly-privatized telecom company of Brazil) went down for a few hours. That was a big problem itself, but what I'll tell you is a weird side effect: Samba stopped working on our local network!!! I checked DNS, r...
