Rails - Aug 2006 - writing an acts_as_* plugin

does anyone know of any documentation other than the article on the wiki 
about how to write an acts-as_* plugin? the code in the wiki article is good 
enough to get me started but I''d like to understand the code rather
than
just copy it.
