Just wanted to let all those Windows devs out there know that RideMe 1.0 dropped over the weekend. http://www.projectrideme.com/ If you''ve never used RideMe before, here are some highlights: * 100% free, open source, and not built on top of anything else. You just need Ruby 1.8.2 and .NET 2.0 installed. * Mission in life is to be lightweight and very fast. This is not a general purpose Ruby editor, it''s an IDE for getting your Rails work done. * File-system based approach. No messy workspace files or extra RIDE-ME specifics junking up your directory. * Syntax highlighting for Ruby Files, Views, Layouts, JavaScript, SQL, CSS, and HTML. * Familiar Visual Studio-style tabbed document editor. * Model / Member drop downs for easy movability in code. (Think Visual Studio above your code file) * Code folding for Ruby files * script/console built into the IDE (think Visual Studio "Immediate Mode") * Server Error notification (template errors will actually open the view file and go to the LOC) * Internal web browser (optional) Thanks! Jeff softiesonrails.com -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.
I can''t seem to download the file. When I click download it opens up the dialog box and then just hangs. ??? Hey Stuart, What browser are you using? Any other details you can provide would be extremely helpful as well. Thanks. :) Stuart Fellowes wrote:> I can''t seem to download the file. Michael, I tried it again and I think it worked this time. I''m using the latest version of Firefox 1.5.0.6 However it did choke initially and then seemed to have downloaded, 1.67mb. I need to install .net framework. Thank you Michael it''s installed and working. I like the code snippets, that''s a great thing to have. Keep up the good work. Honestly I''ve been using RadRails, but it''s a dog on both my 2.5ghz as well as my centrino laptop. Oh very cool! We want to actually add some functionality to the snippets so you can tab between variables in the snippet kind of like TextMate. Hopefully that''ll make one of the upcoming versions. :) Stuart Fellowes wrote:> Thank you Michael it''s installed and working. Not to steal anyones thunder, but in addition to RideME, there''s also another cool lightweight .net 2.0 based editor also at http://www.plasmacode.com It has a similar function set......and the background is black :) Kudos to both these projects. I keep flipping back and forth between the two. Who''d have thought that more choice could be worse for me :) On 8/7/06, Jeff Cohen <cohen.jeff@gmail.com> wrote:> > linux user wrote: > > Is the web site http://www.projectrideme.com/ down ??
