Rails - Jul 2006 - Different error 500 page for ajax errors

Hi,

I''m looking for a way to handle application errors that occur while 
processing an ajax request in a different way then just showing 
public/500.html. The problem is that the default error page breaks my 
layout if it''s just delivered "as is" in instead of the
regular output
from the ajax request.

Any suggestion appreciated.
